Mia H. - Brown University Music Student teaches all levels of Singing to people of all ages.

Hello! My name is Mia and I'm currently an undergraduate student at Brown University majoring in English and Music. I graduated with honors from Peddie School and I'm passionate about creative writing and making music. My high school activities and classes offered me a lot of insight that I incorporate into my life as a college student and creative. Being a member of Peddie's Creative Writing Signature Experience presented me with necessary insight and practice on what it means to be a poignant writer and editor. I have also been very active in the theater community; playing roles such as the Witch in `Into the Woods,` Peter Pan in `Peter Pan,` and Thomas McKean in `1776.` Acting in my high school's honors theater class was also a big part of my acting and creative writing career, as we wrote, acted out, and reviewed scripts during that time. I have tutored in vocal coaching, English test prep, English literature, and ESL. I spent a year virtually tutoring English to students in China and frequently help my little siblings study and do homework. This past summer, I also worked as an instructional aide at a school for people with disabilities. Working with kids with multiple disabilities ages 3-6, I learned a lot about what it means to be a supportive and patient teacher. I am also a singer who took voice lessons for a year and am able to effectively teach people how to sing with support and strength. With my guidance, I can help one reach their goals and excel in class, theater, performance, and in life!
