I have tutored Hebrew off and on for just over 20 years, since studying it in college. I've tutored nine students in Hebrew, ranging from a first-grader currently to my college classmates to a senior citizen. I've helped several students do well in their Hebrew courses, and recently prepared one student for listening and conversing during an extended stay in Israel. Of the several subjects I teach, I gain some of my most positive student feedback for Hebrew. I began working with ESL students as a tutor in the University of Maryland's Writing Center as an undergraduate, and have since worked with several ESL students independently. I've developed a special rapport with non-native English speakers; having learned two other languages myself, I know what it's like to try to master a new language from scratch. I do what I can to simplify the challenge of learning one of the world's most irregular languages.
