I received my Bachelors in Microbiology with minors in Bioinformatics and Plant Science in 2020 at the University of Florida. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I worked part time at the USDA-ARS studying plant biochemical defense mechanisms. Immediately after undergrad, I began a Ph.D. in Genetics and Genomics at the University of Florida Genetics Institute. My current work is in the mechanisms of repeat instability found in common diseases like Huntington's, ALS, and myotonic dystrophies. I have tutored over 20 undergraduates over the last 4 years aiding them in the classes that they take and their skills in the laboratory.
