Baldus is a bully. Never have I ever felt so discouraged by an instructor. He doesn’t believe in 2nd chances, even when something comes up that’s completely out of your control. I think he secretly wants us all to fail so he can feel superior and powerful.

More difficult and time-consuming than an accelerated calculus class. I think it makes him feel better about himself to see students perform poorly on his exams. Upon taking subsequent marketing classes, I learned he probably didn't understand many marketing concepts himself because I had to unlearn and relearn the correct interpretations. I honestly believe I would have been better off skipping his course entirely. MBA students know to avoid his classes like the plague apparently.

He says he loves ambiguity. I do too, but not when it comes to reading exam questions with only one, very specific, right answer. I think maybe he is just a terrible communicator and thinks he’s understandable but comes off as unclear and confusing. He seemed closed to any ideas that differed from his own. He seems so nice, but won’t budge or change his decision even when you prove him wrong. He only ever confused the two black men in my class with each other, they had absolutely nothing in common other than skin tone... He was incredibly cruel to the person with a documented cognitive disability. I’m also confident that he wrote all the “awesome” reviews on his Rate My Professor while getting the awful and poor ones deleted. If you read the good ones, the ratings are good but the words are bad. It’s the only way students could vote their opinion without having their post deleted. He’s the worst professor I’ve ever had by far! He doesn’t deserve to “teach”. He crams so much information into his class, I honestly feel like I’ve retained nothing from his class which is frustrating considering how much work he had us suffer through.

Intro to Marketing is the gateway to a career in Marketing. The single biggest deterrent is this professor. Instead of showing students how amazing a career in marketing can be, he has students memorize definitions for literally 500+ marketing terms and tests on the tiny details. He has the students do a super intensive marketing plan for his friends with a business and their grade will be based on whether or not they can intuit the way to answer a section in 3 lines instead of whether the marketing plan would work. In addition, your grade for the marketing plan will be based on how the group members grade you, which can end up being a full letter grade on the project. If you want to beat this system, rate yourself higher and everybody else lower or you will be sorry because they will do the same for you. It is a textbook example of prisoners dilemma and he is too committed to his flawed system to realize that the smart people are gaming it at the expense of the honest ones.

Insanely difficult exams for an introductory course. Poor communication skills, could not understand his test questions because he purposely words them to be tricky and confusing. If English is not your native language, avoid his class at all costs! Unreasonable and stubborn on grading. Uses a peer review system and adjusts grades based on how your teammates rate you even if they admit they did it wrong and didn’t mean to hurt your grade. Most unfair instructor I’ve ever had.
