Lenient grading rubric
Cons: Quizzes/Exams are nit-picky and hard
Poor lecturer
Does not stimulate class enough
Would not recommend this professor
Need to read entire, long chapter or hope for the best to get an A
I ended this class with a B, and I'd bow down to anyone who had an A. While her grading rubric is lenient (91-100 is an A, 86-90 is an A- and so on), it's really the only thing that will help you. The exams and quizzes are really nit-picky. For the exams, you really need to read the whole chapter or all her notes and hope for the best (book material is long and dense), and for the quizzes (which are all online), you should hope that someone has posted most/all of the answers somewhere. In my class, she gave a multiple choice final... which was made entirely of hard quiz questions! She also suspended think-pair-share exercises and we didn't learn many equations. It was hard, having this class for 1.25 hrs in the morning. At least Prof. Skoog was normally nice to us (but that too, she blamed us for our poor results and did not factor her poor lecturing skills in)...
Shows a great knowledge of subject matter
Comes to class organized
Cons: Would not recommend this professor
Professor is boring or bland
Confusing or hard to understand
Expectations are unclear or lofty
Overly difficult tests or assignments
Notes/lecture is confusing
Lacks enthusiasm in the classroom
Makes class too challenging
Poor sense of humor
Professor does not relate to students
Worst professors I've ever had!
I came into this class thinking it was going to be like marine biology. IT'S NOT. It is all geology and chemistry and she teaches it like crap. She purposely makes the tests harder to screw with you. Pyramid exams are a good idea, though. Really hard material and a bad idea to take this class if you are not a science major. The field trip is stupid, pointless, and retarded. Go back to Sweden!!! Get bigger tits and maybe I'll listen to you more you ugly, horrible professor.

This is without a doubt one of the worse professors I've had. She changed class policy on quizzes atleast 3 times during the semester and each time it was to the students disadvantage. She did not seem to care at all about the students. She also made her final exam way to difficult. I got atleast 20 points lower on the final than my other exams and most of the class did even worse. I was lucky to come out of the class with a B. I would avoid her if at all possible.
Cons: boring class though and early
easy exams
Cons: Is a bad professor

I love oceanography, but I did not love skoog. She's boring, practically whispers in lecture, and is extremely difficult. If you can avoid taking oceanography please try! If not, good luck as you have to take 2 quizzes, submit 2 long assignments and 2 in class assignments each week!

Her exams are cumulative!! This class is no joke. Do NOT take this class if you're not a science major! You don't have much homework, but you have a lot of class assignments. Tests are very difficult, and did I mention they were cumulative? Skoog blows man!
Cons: Professor is boring or bland
Lacks enthusiasm in the classroom
If you read the book you are set for this class. She adds little beyond what the book says. The quizes and tests are generated out of a question bank from the book, I doubt she makes any q's for the tests. If you ever have taken a marine oriented class in the past you are set for this one. Some exams a little hard because all are cumulative, but overall an easy course for science oriented people.

She's tuff, but good. Tries to be funny, and succeeds sometimes. Cute accent. I really like the class even though it is hard. Too many in class exercises.

i and others around me had a tough time staying awake in her class. she does not know how to explain anything. If you think going to class is going to help answer your questions about the text, forget it. You have to figure everything out on your own, because half the time she seems confused about what she's saying. Her exams are frequent and cumulative!
