| I found this professor to be unnecessarily strict and, at times, unapproachable. There were several situations that made the class more stressful than it needed to be. For example, after I had finished all of my work, I tried to step out briefly to get something to eat. I was told I could not leave until everyone else finished, even though I had already completed my assignment. Another issue occurred during an exam when my LockDown Browser wasn’t working. I informed the professor right away. While other students with the same issue were given laptops to continue their test, I was left waiting and ended up being the last person in the class to take the exam. That experience was frustrating and made an already stressful situation even worse. I also became sick for several weeks and asked if there was any way to make up missed classwork. Instead of discussing possible options, I was simply directed to the dean’s office. That led to me finding out I was at risk of being withdrawn from the course, and I had to gather documentation to remain enrolled. I understand that professors have policies to follow, but I felt there was very little flexibility or willingness to help students facing legitimate issues. A more understanding and supportive approach would have made a big difference in my experience. |
