If you have a chance to take a class with Professor Mar do it. She is one of the nicest professors I've ever had and truly cares about her students. She is always willing to help if you ask and wants to see all of her students succeed.

I started learning to do yoga with Ms. Mar in my sophomore year, and I quickly realized that I loved every second of it. Starting the class online I was a bit hesitant as I am not a very athletic person, I wasn't sure if I could keep up with the class. With the calm and positive attitude of Ms. Mar, I soon realized that I didn't need to compare my progress to anyone else but my own. Ms. Mar has impacted my life in so many aspects beyond the scope of yoga. With her rigorous curriculum, every yogi learns the fundamentals and understands and accepts themselves for who they are. Some days some poses are easier and other days they are not, and that's okay. Learning to love myself and have fun doing yoga was one of my highlights of the day. I highly recommend taking a yoga class with her, I can guarantee that you are going to learn so much about yourself while having the best time.

I took PHYSED 224, which provided lectures online (synchronously or asynchronously). Having the video recordings were an awesome resource to follow along or rewatch the workouts. Toni accepted short video clips of workouts for those attending asynchronously, which allowed me to keep documentation of my progress while also getting targeted feedback, which Toni gave every week. I would definitely recommend taking this course!!

Toni is amazing! I took her Core conditioning 3 class and my strength improved ENORMOUSLY over the course of the semester. I've always had a hard time finding upper body movements that worked my core, arms, and back, and Toni's classes completely solved this problem. She explained all the movements so well and gave detailed feedback that I feel comfortable incorporating her workouts into my own. I highly recommend taking one of her classes!

Toni is a fantastic instructor. I can't express how much yoga, through her guidance, has changed my mental and physical health. Toni not only provides clear guidance, in different ways, to execute different yoga poses but she talks you through the movements sharing insights that apply to yoga and everyday life. This was my first time taking a yoga class and was immediately hooked. I will be returning next semester and specifically taking a class with Toni.

Toni is an excellent teacher! Each class is extremely engaging and she creates an environment where students are set-up to exceed. This includes having a asynchronous option for students, so that you can watch the recorded videos on your own time and at your own pace. You can then easily connect with Toni outside of the class as she is reachable via email and is extremely quick to respond. Overall, this is a very worthwhile class!

I took Toni's Mindfulness and Stress Management class, and it helped change my life. With all the stresses of being a UC Berkeley student, and working full time, her class gave me the opportunity to practice mindfulness every day. She helped me to reinforce positive habits in my life daily, many things that I already knew I needed to do, but with her help I was constantly reminded to do them. She constantly reminded us to take care of ourselves, physically, emotionally, and mentally. And her teachings helped me to become more disciplined in all aspects of my life. In taking her class, I went from not ever doing any yoga, to being the most flexible I've ever been. I'm more conscious of my breathing. My level of awareness in my fitness and my mindset are at the highest they've ever been and it's all thanks to her. If you get the chance, and if you want to feel more connected with yourself, I'd highly recommend taking a class with her.

Toni has been not only helpful and a great instructor she is also inspiring, open to suggestions, and mindful of the different capabilities her students have. When I started her class I did not think I would be able to keep up with most of the routines however, I found that through her use of whimsical encouragement and animated patience I could go above and beyond the limits I set up for myself. I went from struggling with Downward dog to a Tripod Headstand in just a few months! I feel like I was tricked into it as I never thought I would be capable of such a feat. Toni saw my potential and like the marble that was used to make the David I became a work of art I had no idea I had in me. I highly recommend her class and am looking forward to learning much from her instruction in the future.

I took Toni's general conditioning 1 class and I love how she always emphasizes the importance of having correct form when doing exercises. Her class is designed to get progressively more challenging as the semester continues. Even five weeks in, I could tell that my core had gotten a lot stronger than before. She is a great teacher and she also gives individual feedback every class.

I did Toni's class remotely and really got a lot out of it. She pushes students to test their limits and move beyond them, not just passively do the exercises -- I was amazed at what my body was able to do by the end of the course. I really learned a lot and grew from the class.

I initially took Toni's core and yoga courses during the summer. It became apparent that I needed to attend her classes every semester until graduation. My body and mind demanded it. I am now graduating the following spring and had taken core and yoga courses again. My yoga and core journey at Cal was just shy of a year, and the phsycial and mental transformations were astonishing. Having been instructed multiple semesters by Toni, her words imprinted upon my actions and mind set. Subconsciously, I apply her techniques throughout daily life. Her classes will be the thing I miss the most at Cal. Luckily, with the recorded lectures, I am able to continue my practice of yoga and core.

After having taken Toni Mar for Yoga Vinyasa 1 and 2, and Mindfulness and Stress Management (twice), I can safely provide good feedback for her as an instructor. I have enjoyed and greatly benefited from her instruction. Her classes are unconventional in that they do not demand we all perform at the same level, but as we progress through the courses our skills improve without a doubt, and it is the allowance of our individuality that helps us grow so much. It has been a pleasure!
