I loved this class so much academically, but also for my own personal experience. Coming full circle from the start to finish has showed me how much I have learned and utilized in my personal, everyday life. I am so much more mindful and aware of how to not only manage stress, but also stay in tune with my mind + body, nutrition, staying present, and so many more skills that I would have had a hard time learning/discovering if not for this wonderful class. I 11/10 recommend this class, especially if you find yourself wanting to improve/explore these topics more. Thank you Professor Mar!

I took Professor Mar’s core conditioning class, and as a male strength athlete, I finished each of her workout exhausted and drenched in sweat. She does no slack and makes you work to your limits. Her strict attendance policy keeps you in check, and in my case, after surviving the flu, and making up several classes, all the work culminated me in having more stamina and even though I was exhausted the same amount each time, the workouts got easier and I felt myself getting stronger. Also if you aren’t that well-versed in exercise terminology and muscle functionalities, she teaches these concepts in a digestible manner. Definitely recommend!

Toni is wonderful! She cares deeply about students and about imparting lessons that we can take to our own yoga practice and beyond. I have also really appreciated her attention to detail when it comes to proper form. I had been practicing yoga for a couple of years before I took her class and I learned SO much with Toni.

I was able to take professor Mar's stress management mindfulness class in conjunction with a vinyasa yoga class this last semester, and I am so glad I did. Both classes pushed me to grow and trust myself more. I was wary whether r not I could manage since both classes were done asynchronously, i work a full time job, and am a commuter, but professor Mar's structure made it super manageable! Definitely recommend!

This semester, I had the opportunity to take Core & Yoga with Toni. My body had severe wear and tear, but the cross-training of core and yoga helped me feel stronger and provided rehabilitative effects. I'm super grateful for taking the course; it's been the best physical education class I've taken at Cal! Thank you, Toni Mar!

I learned a lot from Toni's Vinyasa 1 class! She has a really cool attitude about the practice and always relates it back to our daily lives. I don't recommend skipping any classes because there is an emphasis on making them up as a significant part of your grade which can get stressful if you struggle with time management.

Professor Mar's classes will leave you with lessons that you can apply to life for years. I learned a lot about myself and the changes I've made just from attending her class online twice a week are very remarkable. I'm proud of myself for taking the class, it was so useful.

Toni Mar is the best yoga instructor I have ever had. I am a returning student and have been practicing yoga for over 5 years now but Toni has pushed me to places I never thought possible. She is thoughtful, king and encouraging. I highly suggest taking her course.

toni is amazing! i took her 7-8am running+core class and it definitely woke me up and gave me a little morning pick me up. i have some prior injuries and overall i feel so much stronger and honestly would not have traded the class for more sleep (rare!!!)

This class has been such a gem, and really helped me finetune so many skills which I have been putting off, under the guise of being busy and stressed. I am so grateful for Toni Mar and this class, as I have finally learned to prioritize my stress management and wellness and take control of my life, and realize that all the tools I need, I have within me.

She sees the effort placed in students who perform their best in exercises she administers in the course. She does not expect anyone to be an athlete nor does she hold everyone to the same physical standards. In her courses, effort and the will to perform your very best will earn you top marks and respect. Do the very best you can. Attend all workout meetings. Aim for perfect attendance and don’t compare yourself with others. Go at your own pace.

Toni Mar is a wonderful teacher! I want to encourage people like myself who may be intimated in taking a challenging PE class with her that you should absolutely give it a try. I first came into Toni's class as a person with mobility issues and almost no prior workout experience. Toni was so great about helping me find modifications for movements that were hard for me due to my mobility issues, and over time she instilled in me the confidence and knowledge to be able to figure out my own modifications. So even if you have a pre-existing condition that makes exercise a challenge, Toni will work with you through it. Toni pushes her students, but she does it with encouragement and some sprinklings of humor. I'm in the best shape of my life because of how Toni pushed me beyond what I thought my limits were. I have better endurance, muscle strength, balance, and knowledge of my body as a result of taking her course. I also have a new love of exercise and plan to take classes with her for the rest of my time at Cal. Sign up for a class with Toni, you won't regret it!

Toni's classes are not easy by any means, but in my opinion that made them all the more rewarding and challenging! As someone who took multiple classes this semester from her, I found that her clarity in explanations and additional comments on form very helpful to my learning experience. Also, she's very supportive and extremely bubbly and welcome even at 7 AM. I found in myself a lot of improvements both mentally and physically when taking her classes. I took a core and running class with her and saw physical changes within one semester on my strength & endurance; in her yoga class it gave me the space to breathe and learn to push through adversity and come in terms with being in the present more which was so helpful for me emotionally. I really recommend taking one of her classes before you graduate---you won't regret it!

Toni is a great yoga teacher! I tore my hip-labrum a couple years before taking this class and lost a lot of mobility because of it. After taking this class, I've gained a lot more flexibility in my lower body which has help a lot more with my recovery and reduced the impingement causing the tear in the first place. I really liked how my class was the in the morning so I was forced to start my day earlier, and how Toni pushed us harder every class to get results. She's really good an explanation all the different poses and tries to make you self-sufficient so that you can do yoga beyond Berkeley! 10/10 prof

I took Prof. Mar’s Vinyasa Yoga class and it definitely started my day with mindful movement of my body. I also struggled with sciatic back pain, but the yoga practices I’ve learned in this class helped me manage the pain and improve my body’s condition overall. I learned many practical things for the everyday and about my body. Prof. Mar is a great yoga instructor, would definitely recommend!

Toni was extremely helpful in guiding our class through yoga this semester. From challenging us when necessary to giving us space to play around with poses, I could really feel her support throughout developing my own yoga practice. I would highly recommend anyone to take a PE class with her -- it was such a good break from academics because Toni is so fabulous!
