Toni teaches one of the toughest courses (making a pretzel out of one's body) with such a compassion that I was eager to arrive at the class every day. She is very inspiring and well respected by all.

I am so grateful to have taken Toni's class. his class changed my MINDSET drastically. Since I have started Cal as a transfer I have been plagued with anxiety and depression. This is the first semester that I have started to become more aware of the imbalance in life that results in these conditions and I have taken major steps to correct myself. Through yoga, I have found the patience, mindfulness, and discipline to work through these issues. I will continue my yoga practice and work on meditations and sutras.

Amazing experience that everyone at Cal should utilize before they graduate. If you are open minded, and willing to challenge your mind, body, and spirit you will absolutely benefit from her Yoga class. You will also see the numerous benefits of Yoga off the mat and in your everyday life. I highly recommend and am going to take more of her classes in the future.

Taking Toni's classes for three years was one of the best decisions I made during my time at Cal. She is hands down one of Cal's best professors. She takes physical fitness and sports nutrition seriously, ensuring that students learn all the knowledge they need to know to be fit and healthy for life. She pushes students to be the best they can be, and to continuously reach for more. In addition, she instills in her students discipline, dedication, mental toughness, resiliency, and intentionality. She adds new components to her class every semester, always keeping it interesting. I highly recommend.

Toni is a fantastic teacher! She cares so much about what students take with them at the end of the semester that she very explicitly and carefully teaches us what we need to know. Both her yoga and core classes are transformational, both physically and mentally. They not only get you toned and feeling sore (yet stronger!), they also push your mental toughness and ability to overcome adversity. Highly recommend!

Yogi Mar is an incredible instructor. She is not "easy" because her courses shouldn't be. She consistently pushes you to go past your comfort zone and improve both physically and mentally so you can weather any storm that life throws at you. This is my second semester with Yogi Mar and I have noticed that along with her yoga course and consistent weight training, I have gained confidence in my body and become much more "easygoing" -- to the point where the people in my life have been making comments about it. I highly recommend you taking at least one of her courses while you are at Cal.

Toni is an excellent professor who truly pushes her students to not only do their best, but also to make their best continually better. She takes physical training very seriously and works her students to the extreme in the best way possible. I have taken her core conditioning class twice so far, and I am even enrolled to take it again next semester because it is seriously that good! She has taught me so much about proper form and technique in exercising, and because of her clear training I feel confident that I will be able to properly exercise for the rest of my life without injuring myself due to poor form. If you are serious about getting in shape, definitely take Toni Mar! But you will need to truly be serious because attendance is not optional in this class! It is hard and exhausting but so so worth it. Highly recommend!!

Professor Tony Mar has extensive knowledge of the anatomy of the body and its working. She mixes this knowledge with the practice of Vinyasa Yoga to create a class that aims to help better and grow the body, mind, and soul. She is also really caring. Sadly, I was not able to complete her class due to a shoulder injury, but she still kept in contact and updated on my progress and treatment for healing. A great experience at Cal that would help distress from class, and become a more balanced person.

I took Toni's class this Fall until I had to drop it because of an injury. Even though I was there only for three weeks, the class and Toni's way of teaching had a profound impact on my life. I learned so much about nutrition, fitness, and mindset and I am actively trying to incorporate my learnings in real life. I hope I am healed enough to take her class again! Thank you Toni - stay awesome!

Really enjoyed sports yoga and beginner vinyasa yoga with Toni because she guides you through fundamentals and reinforces why it's important to have a strong foundation (both in life and on the mat). Going to school at UC Berkeley is stressful, but I never wanted to miss any of her classes, they are very worth going!

Toni is one of the most effective fitness instructors I've ever had in my life. She wants her students to understand what they're doing and why they're doing it. She draws from many different areas for her classes. They are interesting, ever-changing, and incredibly difficult (in the best way). Life at Cal would not be the same without her and her instruction.

Toni has a very clear and calm way of teaching. She simultaneously makes you relax and want to work hard. Her hight expectations regarding attendance are on the strict side, sometimes unexpectedly so, but she is reasonable so long as you keep an open line of communication.

Yogi Mar is no joke! She knows what she's talking about and expects you to give it your all. Attendance is absolutely mandatory, but she provides make up opportunities. Be honest and straightforward with her and she will reflect the same back to you (i.e. don't try and play games). Just listen and follow her guidance. She knows and loves what she's talking about. By the end of the semester, you will notice changes within yourself. She really is a gem at Berkeley!

Toni is an amazing instructor! I have learned so much about myself and about the practice of yoga. I completely recommend taking this class if you are receptive to learning the foundations of yoga and will show up twice a week. She is a really amazing instructor that really cares about improving the lives of her students.

Best yoga instructer I have ever had! She can be tough but it's never unreasonable and that's what you need in a PE teacher to really push you further and to improve.
