Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Excellent professor. It has been too long since I was in his classes to write a relevant review of what to expect in his classes, so I can just give my impressions of the professor. He was cheerful, helpful, and easy to find. In short, he was in his office during his office hours and was happy to see you. He was the resident empiricist in the political science department while I attended CPP, so everyone got to take his empirical techniques class. Of all the political science classes I took at the university it is the only one that really helped me while working R & D writing research papers.
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Dr. Korey is very straight forward in his requirements. He is very sharp and his lectures (although sometimes dry he does his best with dry material) are very substantive. In other words, Dr. Korey goes beyond the common textbook knowledge of Congress and taught us insiders information in Congress. He is very approachable and find ways to help you that you probably wouldn't think of. In short, he's a stellar political science professor. Grade Received: A-
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Dr. Korey is a great guy! I liked taking this class, even though some of the lectures can be boring.. He gives a quiz about every week so you have to stay on top of your reading but they aren't too hard and he drops the two lowest scores. There is a midterm and a final, neither are super hard, just make sure to study. There is also a paper on a bill recently passed by Congress. (Make sure to follow the layout and syllabus and you'll do fine). This class definitely helped my understanding of Congress and I definitely recommend it :) Grade Received: B+
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Dr. Korey is a bright person. American Politics is this mans craft and he mastered it a long time ago. This class had 4 quarters for a grade. 25% quizzes, midterm, final, and group project and a personal project both worth 12.5%. Korey's lectures are rapid fire. Their content is outstanding but prepare to be writing fast. Sometimes they can be very dull because of Korey's old school delivery, but their content is fair, relevant, and mostly new learning territory for me. His reading assignments were very manageable with a full load of classes. His quizzes are very challenging but his A starts at an 83% to make up for that. The midterm and final are very broad and non cumulative. Broad meaning - be prepared to tell him about the book and its themes, concepts, and findings in essay form. The redistricting project was a lot of work but I learned a lot about it's process and how it goes down in reality. Overall, I enjoyed this class because of how much Korey taught us. I think you'll find Korey is a good man that is very fair and approachable. Grade Received: A
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Dr. Korey is a master in research methods. He is also a political junkie within American Politics - which is fun to listen to. I can see how students think the lectures are boring. Its not Korey's fault. Most people shut down with math and technical discussions. This class has three papers that are are very reasonable; the most you have to write is 750 words. Along with the essays are four tests based on readings. In this class you will learn SPSS software, which i can see being very useful for term papers in the future. pay attention and ask questions on things that dont seem clear. I aced the course easily. Grade Received: A
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	He is a pretty boruign teacher but at the same time a great teacher. his class is not that hard you just have to do your reading. and teh reading is never a lot the test are a piece of cake if you read. take him as a teacher if you want a good grade with not a heavy work load but you still learn your stuff
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Took for Research Methods. He is a okay teacher, although he has the unfortunate business of conducting the hardest class in our major I think he gets a somewhat bad rep for this. He is helpful but beware this class, it is pretty challenging. Pay attention to the relationships in statistics, definitions, practice problems before the tests in spss. Grade Received: C
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Dr. Korey is a good guy, who has a dry sense of humor and cares about the students. I can't blame him at all for the boredom of "Research Methods", since it's boring no matter who teaches it - even Speak or Reese. This class is very easy, the language makes it seem hard but it's a computer class so you can use the Powermutt website (especially the PUPP button, which tells you step-by-step how to do everything) on all tests, making it almost impossible to do bad. Besides that, he looks just like Harry Truman! Grade Received: A-
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Overall he is a good teacher. There is no homework, you just have to read from two books. But his tests are hard, for every 3 or 4 chapters of reading there are only 30 questions on each test. So you have no idea what he is going to ask you on the test. Some questions can be quite random. You HAVE to read or else you'll absolutely fail. Grade Received: B

I must admit that his lectures are rather boring,, but if you don't show up to class you won't know the material for the tests. There are three papers -->> 10,15, and 15 points. None of these papers are dropped. Five tests, including one final. The final cannot be dropped and is worth no more than the other four tests. The lowest of the first four tests is dropped. The class is curved. A (80-100%), A-(77-79.99%) B+(73-76.99%) B(70.00-72.99%) B-(67.00-69.99%)C+(63.00-66.99%)C(60.00-62.99%)C-(57.00-59.99%) This professor is very friendly, and tells jokes once in a while. Some of which are funny. Grade Received: A-

Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	He is a good professor. His lectures can get boring but he really tries and you can learn a lot. You have tests every two weeks that are hard, but he makes up for it with a easy grading scale (80-100% = A). You also have three papers that are relatively easy. You do have reading due everytime before class and it is somewhat a lot. He is very knowelgible and friendly. Grade Received: B+
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	he's a good teacher. his tests are not even hard. you have two books to read frm and read two small chapters from each and you should do good in your tests. he has three papers that are so easy to do, its just comments. his lectures are boring but if you miss them then you miss info. for the tests. he is not strict and givesdumb jokes once in a while. Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Professor korey is a great teacher, a better advisor, and an even better person. I am honored to have been able to have him as a professor. That being said, PLS205/205A is without a doubt one of the most boring courses ever devised by mankind. Through the use of a PC program, Dr Korey will teach you..... how to use the computer program. The course has nothing to do with research, and everything to do with learning the software. Boring, dificult class, and generally a waste of time. Again, nothing against korey, he just happens to enjoy the slop (couldn't tell you why), so he's stuck teaching it. Grade Received: D
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	omigod! what can you say about this professor? he is so difficult! his lectures are so boring and more than half of the class falls asleep! i think he enjoys lulling the class to snore, his class is so boring and he knows it! as for his tests, most people do very badly and they get less than half right, the papers don't even bring up ur grade that much, i know a lotta ppl that study like crazie in his class and still doesnt do well, he just wants us to fail! terrible terrrible teaching skills!!!!
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	I've had Dr. Korey before for the 101A class, but this class is entirely different. One day you will have 3 hours of LECTURE. And if you know Dr. Korey, he can be quite boring. The material in this class essentially is boring, as well as the 2 hour lab class. Make sure you take STA 120 before this class so you will understand the stats part of the class. Grading is simple 3 midterms, an 8-10 page research design paper, and a final all worth 100 points each. The tests can be tricky and the research design isn't hard, you can get an A or a B and you will not have a problem filling out the 8-10 page requirement. His grading scale is curved, however, to the point where 83-100% is an A and 50% is a D-. This is required for all PLS majors so just take it with a light schedule and drink coffee before you come to class.
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	I want you all to listen to me now! my comments are true about this professor. If you love to read then get korey, if you hate reading don't get him! I admit korey knows alot about political science but the tests are pretty ruff. First off you have to buy 2 books and every test, he asks you 10 questions from his own written book and another 10 from this american government book and also 10 questions from his lecture. He expects us to read about 3 to 4 chapters from each book within a week and he tests us on it. I read and read and i still got a freakin D in his class. Im serious though none of us have time to read and if you hate reading i suggest you dont take this guy. He also assigns 3 essays from websites
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Nice guy, knows his stuff. Easiest class in the whole PLS major. It's a computer class, but if you are a student, you already do things which are 'taught' in this class, so it's very easy. But if you do have some trouble with something, he's usually great about helping you out. Further more, the website for this class always also has good suggestions and advise.
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Korey knows his stuff, but is boring. It's hard to pick out the important stuff from his lectures, and you need to do the reading to do well on the tests. I did part of the reading (probably less than half), listened and tried to take notes until I fell asleep in class, and I ended up with a C+ in the class.
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Professor Korey is a boring teacher I have to admit, but he knows a lot about political science. He even wrote his own book. The work in the class is pretty easy. He has about four tests which are based on class lectures and text readings and four one-paged web papers. What's cool is that he drops the lowest test, meaning if your grade is good going into the final then you don't have to take it.
