Cons: Tests are very difficult
Cons: tough quizzes and exams
Cons: Makes mistakes during lecture. Leaves notes ambiguous on purpose. Tests are difficult, but not impossible.
Cons: The tests are hard, and it makes you wish you studied harder, but she only gives you one practice test.
Cons: exams are very difficult and require a high level of understanding
Read before going to class - her lectures are very clear but you will get much more out of it if you have read beforehand. If you have questions, go to OH. She is happy to help!
Cons: practice exam is not very similar with the actual exam
exam are fair, very good curve
Cons: Tough tests! Accent, but you definitely get used to it very quickly. :)
OChem is OChem--it'll always be hard. I avoided Nasiri until my last quarter of OChem because of all the terrible rumors I had heard about her and her tests, but she was actually great! Very clear, and the fact that she expects a lot out of her students only encouraged me to work harder for my grade.
Practice tests are manageable, but the actual exams are much tougher.
Cons: Hard to understand her and not really a good lecturer.
it's nasiri. her tests are hard. avgs are low. final grades don't make sense. but she is better than other teachers
Cons: Thick accent, hard to understand, not very approachable, teaches theory but not application
Dr. Nasiri doesn't seem so bad until you get to the exam. She teaches all of the theory and the steps that go with it, but very little in the way of thinking and problem-solving - and her exams are HARD. Some of it seems like it is intentionally hard or tricky. I attended every class, studied on my own with the practice exams, and went to every review session, and barely made the average (which was a FORTY, in a class of ~200 people!) on each exam. If you want to learn concepts, she's great, but if you want to learn application (or get a good grade) stay away from her.
Cons: She expects you to know everything you are suppose to know up to 118B.
Overall, CHE 118 series is no joke, especially with Nasiri. This quarter we had a 6 quizzes, all taken during your lab time. Subject matter is pretty difficult to retain; that is, some of the material was just so overwhelming and unless this is your priority class that could be trouble since there are a lot of reactions and mechanisms to memorize (emphasis on "a lot")
Cons: The language barrier was a bit difficult to work with sometimes
Cons: It seems as though she wishes to punish her less enthusiastic students.
