The reading load is heavy but there are no quizzes or assignments due in addition to the reading. Do the reading between classes and be ready to talk about it during next class. Graded only on participation, midterm, and finals. Discussions are always fun and she makes the stories entertaining. Would 100% take her again!
One of the best professors I've ever had. She's very brilliant but easy to relate to. Has a great sense of humor and knows how to help students relate to literature. I highly recommend her class.
I was a little intimidated by Joslin at first because she does tend to call on you in class to answer questions, but she really made the class a joy. I do recommend doing the readings and if you don't understand the stories entirely, she'll definitely help you understand it in class. She grades very fairly and is a very knowledgeable professor.
Wonderful professor... probably my most challenging and thought-provoking during school. I cannot emphasize enough how much Dr. Joslin is an amazing teacher and person. Challenged my way of viewing students and literature.
Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, but truly self-absorbed. Make sure you read ALL the material and pay attention to the multicultural nuance of each assigned piece.
Great prof! She's straightforward and really clear. Her class was definitely not a chore to attend. The in-class discussions were really helpful. If you do the reading, you're set.
I really enjoyed Dr. Joslin's class. She is really witty and funny. She was a great classroom leader and can ask really random but funny questions! As long as you do the reading and pay attention to the classroom discussions you should have no trouble passing her class!
She's great but boring. Brought us donuts to keep us awake 4 times... the material is a lot to read and it feels pointless. Graded on attendance (2 free skips if it's once a week), midterm, and final. Show up, read, open book/note tests. Still not fun if you don't enjoy reading. Doesn't put grades online. Takes attendance. |
