| I had Dr. Islam for Astronomy in 2006-2007. As I recall, he was from Bangladesh. Me being an 18-19 year old from Indianapolis I have to say there was quite a language barrier to overcome. I already had vague interest in Astronomy, but after experiencing Dr. Islam’s version of the course with amazing enthusiasm, it has left a pretty remarkable impact on me even 20 years later. He was such a damn good professor that the language barrier simply faded away and I actually looked forward to showing up at his class. Very few professors have such an impact on students. I just thought he needed to be recognized and I wanted to say thank you. |
