Accessorizing your dorm room on a budget
Adding pops of color is a surefire way to transform your space. It’s simple, and more cost-efficient than completely changing the Zen of your room. Here are a few tips to keep you on budget and fabulous:
Show off what you got
The arrival of spring means one thing… an explosion of scarves! Dormify’s scarf holder is the best way to show off your collection while adding color (and much needed storage) to your room.
Utilize your space better
This pouf is exclusive to Dormify, and it is great for extra table surfaces or seating. My pouf of choice is the black ikat print because of its boldness (and I’m a sucker for black and white). The other two colors are nice and bright though, which will definitely make your space more inviting.
One tip that interior designers love to give is that mirrors are the best way to make your room seem larger than it is. This wall décor is so amazing because it captures light and makes the room seem to glow. These inexpensive fixes are the best way to increase your fabulousness without breaking bank.
And on that note…
Lighting
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, good lighting will change your life. College dorms are notorious for poor overheard lighting. The cheapest way to spruce up your room is to get some twinkly lights and a lamp. The lasting power of the two will give your room a real glow.
I’m also in love with flameless candles. They are sold everywhere, and are typically pretty inexpensive. They look nice on a window ledge or on a dresser, and provide some romantic lighting when you have company over.
