EVNTLIVE: Streaming Music for Free

By Russell Thigpen on June 19, 2013

If you ask me, good music is the unifying element of humanity, and live music has the nearly inescapable effect of connecting multitudes of unique individuals into harmonious congruence with one another. Even the most fastidious of us wretched creatures can relate to one form or another of music. Speaking of those fastidious wretches (myself often included in this group, so please take minor offense), increased efforts directed toward maximum convenience have yielded the ultimate gift from the universe. This technological gift that I present to you may very well change your musical experience, whether you’re a fickle listener, or a more considerate and accepting fan of music who just cannot find the time or funding necessary to commit to distant concerts and lengthy festivals. Live concert streaming via the internet  has become a reality thanks to the devoted masterminds behind EVNTLIVE.

The layout is simple, as I mentioned earlier, boasting just three comprehensible tabs to find the meat and potatoes, or whatever your hunger begs for, from this multi-offering buffet-style lineup. The live-streaming concert platform opened to the public in mid-April this year, and having hosted a free live Bon Jovi concert its the opening days, has seemingly been highly successful thus far. EVNTLIVE offers live streaming and on-demand options, both free and pay-per-view, and their library of content is becoming increasingly attractive and expansive.

Another important event which EVNTLIVE recently hosted was the Ninth Annual Mountain Jam in Hunter Mountain, NY. I personally had the pleasure of streaming a phenomenal live PRIMUS concert at the Mountain Jam in NY almost 1000 miles away from Tallahassee, FL while “doing homework,” and I’m absolutely sold on the concept. The execution was punctual and interactive, save two mild rebuffing interruptions (which I could have been the source of, as I was multi-tasking ineffectively), and TV-style broadcasting offers multiple angles of whichever event you’re viewing. All-in-all this group has effectively grabbed my attention and easily deserves a few moments of yours. If their current list of artists is any indication of things to come, we can expect even greater events in the future.
