Visit Vegas on a Tight Budget

By Lauren Deane on June 5, 2013

The Hangover III was released on May 24 and like the first Hangover story, it is set in Las Vegas, Nevada. To celebrate the release, here are some money saving tips while venturing to Viva Las Vegas.

The best way to keep feeling plentiful while on vacation is by getting the biggest bargain on a hotel. While researching the best deals online, the standout was Groupon.com with a $14 per night room at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino (which is listed as a 4.5/5 star hotel on expedia.com).

The least expensive hotel after that was shown on priceline.com with a listed price of $44 per night.  Closely following with the $45 per night price was the Super 8 at kayak.com.  After these three, bookit.com and shop.lasvegas.com had their lowest listed prices just below $100.

Vegas can be a pricey trip with shows, shopping and other day-time activities, but there are also some options for those on a budget. Here are some free day-time activities:

  • Circus shows at the Circus Circus Las Vegas Hotel
  • Fashion shows at the Fashion Show Mall
  • Fountain shows at the Bellagio
  • Karaoke at select bars
  • Bellagio Botanical Gardens and glass blowing in the hotel lobby
  • Gondola rides at the Venetian and M&M’s World Academy
  • For those who are 21 or older, there is also a free wine tasting and tour at the Pahrump Valley Vineyards

Looking to get crazy with the Vegas nightlife and clubbing?  With the entrance fees, drinks and everything in-between, it can become a costly night out. Free entrance can be attained to some of the hottest clubs simply by visiting http://www.freevegasclubpasses.com/ and signing up with your name, email address, phone number and guest list.

Ladies, try to hit up the clubs and bars when they are having their annual ladies night.  During the week, ladies night is every Tuesday at Grape Vegas, Wednesday ladies drink free all evening at Stoney’s North Forty and  on Thursdays, the Rockhouse Bar keeps those with XX chromosomes in mind until the bar shuts down.  During the weekend, The Rock Hard Hotel has specials for ladies both on Saturday and Sunday at the Body English Nightclub.

If the Hangover has taught us anything, it’s that there is no amount of trouble you can’t get into while visiting Vegas.  So save your money, stay away from Mike Tyson’s house and have a safe trip.
