Things I'm Thankful for this Time of Year
By Rani Mehta on May 5, 2013
I think that during finals time and as the end of the year approaches, it’s nice to take a step back and think about all that’s good. Here are some things I’m thankful for at Mount Holyoke (especially during finals time!)
- The fact that Milk & Cookies are open all night during finals.
- The beautiful spring weather.
- The way Mount Holyoke looks in the spring.
- The fact that certain parts of the library are open 24/7 during reading days and finals.
- Broadway musical soundtracks (when I need breaks from studying).
- The person who drew photos of the Simpson’s characters on the Library’s whiteboard.
- The mile-long path around Upper Lake.
- The Mount Holyoke Compliments Page.
- The All Saints Episcopal Church for hosting a Midnight Breakfast for students.
- The bunnies that a Mount Holyoke professor breeds and that we get to pet.
- Sunday brunches.
- Eliot House, Mount Holyoke’s home for Religious and Spiritual Life — for hosting an event where we can play board games and make brownie ice-cream sundaes.
- People who post links to entertaining articles on facebook (not exactly conducive to productivity, but they’re entertaining!)
- Self-Scheduled exams. (Seriously, how cool is it that Mount Holyoke trusts us enough so we can both choose our room and our exam time!)
- Goodbye hugs. (I don’t like saying goodbye, but those moments when you realize how much you’re going to miss everybody and how much people mean to you, really makes you appreciate all the friends you have made.)
