Reading: the Ultimate Adventure

I love the library. I love walking down aisles, grabbing books that look interesting, and perusing the back cover and inside flap. I love finding ones that catch my eye, checking them out, and reading them in one sitting. I just love reading!

To me, reading is an escape; it allows me to go on as many adventures as I want. Things that wouldn’t exist in the real world are possible there to find and explore. To me, literature is a beautiful thing. There are so many things that I can’t experience in real life, that I can learn about just by picking up a book. So much pleasure can be found by following the thoughts of someone else’s imagination.

It has been surprising to me to find just how few people in general enjoy reading as much as I do. So many people are content to never open a book other than a textbook, and sometimes not even that. What has happened? Books haven’t lessened in quality at all, I know that by experience, so is it laziness? Lack of interest? Lack of time? Low reading ability?

Go to the library. Just try it! Find something that interests you and then read it. You don’t have to be like me and read it in one sitting. Just find a pace that works for you and let yourself enjoy a good book. There is so much out there that you are missing. Don’t let that atrocity continue. Read.
