Jeggings: Why?

Jeggings, leggings, yoga pants, whatever kids are calling them these days I just have to ask why? This is one fashion craze that I really don’t get, not that I really understand fashion anyways I just focus on color coordinating….that’s beside the point. I’m just curious as to when wearing skin-tight clothing became a thing and why so many people think it looks good when clearly it doesn’t. Let’s be real some people look worse in yoga pants and should never be allowed to wear them and no this isn’t being mean because being a bigger guy there’s certain clothing I can’t wear: tank tops, speedos, skinny jeans, etc. But yoga pants take things a step further than skinny jeans by looking painted on and unfortunately riding up sometimes, also coming in the color ‘nude’ was a huge mistake but I don’t think the designers intended them to be worn as pants only. Some girls look great in them, I’ll admit that but if a girl were to show up to a date wearing those I might just walk away. I’m sorry that’s just something I don’t like. I’m OK with them being the girl equivalent of sweatpants, something you just throw on because you feel like crap but still have to show up to class. Point being, they are not an everyday type of pants.The second thing I’m left to wonder is the timing of wearing said pants. I live in Wisconsin and have seen women wear these OUTSIDE DURING WINTER and not the “oh it’s a bit nippy” winter, this is the “OH GOD I THINK MY BLOOD HAS FROZEN INSIDE ME” cold that will make you question why anyone lives here. Seriously who buys these? deal breaker. Save them for the Spring please, I hate to see a woman suffer. On a side note to this though, if you sacrifice warmth for fashion then complain it’s cold either take the coat I’m offering you or stop complaining that it’s cold. I’m not offering it for any nefarious reasons, you literally just complained your cold and I feel kind of warm so logic says I should hand you my coat so you can be warm because I’m a gentleman. I apologize if any of this sounds misogynistic or chauvinistic but most guys will offer you their coat or whatever if you ask or make mention you’re cold and it hurts and annoys us when you shun our kindness.

Back on topic, please can we scrap leggings as an everyday thing? They are a silly and very unpractical clothing except when used for exercising or yoga. It just baffles me that these are worn constantly, I can’t remember the last time I saw a girl wearing normal jeans granted I’m not actively surveying the pants around me because that would just be strange. Plus I like getting a look at a woman’s eyes more anyways but that’s another topic for another day.
