Five Things I Want To Do Before Graduating UC Santa Cruz
How did spring quarter senior year get here so quickly?! I clearly remember the first day of moving into the dorms at College Eight and highly anticipating my college experience. Alas, it’s real, and I will be leaving the city I’ve called home for the past four years to enter the (ew) real world. I hope to accomplish the following five things before I leave this campus.
Hike in Santa Cruz How it is possible that I live in one of the most beautiful citites – surrounded by redwoods and the ocean – and have not been hiking? My best friend and I always talked about doing one and even looked them up, but somehow work, courses, and the TLC channel got in the way. It’s such an amazing way to appreciate the view of the city and exercise –I must do it before I move away. HERE are some trails.
Not Procrastinate For One Assignment I am the queen of procrastination. No matter many stress eating episodes and crying phone calls to my mom have occurred, I still keep putting my work off until the last minute. My goal is to start one assignment the day (okay, maybe the day after) it is assigned and saving myself from the emotional roller coaster that accompanies the procrastination route of life.
Have Coffee At The Kind Grind Whenever my mother comes to visit we always have dinner at The Crow’s Nest which is right on the water. Next to the restaurant is a cute little coffee house called The Kind Grind. I’ve never made it in, but I’ve always wanted to have a morning cup of coffee while sitting out on their patio that’s right on the sand. Even better, a morning beach yoga session followed by a cup of coffee accompanied by an ocean view.
Not Wear Sweatpants To My Morning Classes Let’s be honest, at 8 in the morning the only outfit that sounds appealing is a loose fitting shirt with yoga pants or sweatpants. I know that pretty much everyone agrees with me because it’s definitely a trend on campus. In Europe, that’s not the case. Every class I went to, all the girls were in full-on make-up and put-together outfits (well, put-together is kind of a stretch because leggings and a crop top don’t really fit that description for me). I honestly don’t know if I ever saw someone in sweatpants. Anyway, back to the point, I would like to try to not be lazy and get myself together at the start of everyday. Personally, I give myself three weeks before the DGAF-ing sets in. Are you supposed to care more or less in your last quarter?
Take A Photo On The Porter Wave I will not be satisfied until I take a picture (preferably at sunset) while sitting atop the Porter Wave. Does this even need an explanation? It’s classic UCSC, and I need a new cover photo.
