Bonnaroo Line-Up 2013
So it is that time of year again when…
the Bonnaroo lineup is announced!
If you are one of “those people” who don’t know what Bonnaroo is, I will give you a brief description. It is a musical festival held in Manchester, Tennessee (about an hour from me!) in a giant field attended by just over 75,000 people last year alone! Although there is an inordinate amount of hippies, people from all walks of life gather together to watch bands of all genres jam out. Comedians and other acts also take one of many stages.
So here is my take on this year’s lineup.
Paul McCartney: Yes. He is a legend I would watch him any day regardless of the age in his voice.
Mumford & Sons: Again, yes! This band has proven their worth and I am a big fan of their folksy twang. Each song may sound a tad the same but I could listen to them all day regardless.
Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers: Sure why not, and what a way to revamp your musical career indeed.
Wilco: Unbeknownst to many, Wilco is an EXCELLENT band. Usually slow like Coldplay, fantastic lyrics and a great use of technological effects (greater than Radiohead’s in my opinion).
Daniel Tosh: Not always a favorite, love him or hate him I am personally excited that Tosh.0 is coming to Tennessee. I’m sure he will find plenty of amusing new material at Bonnaroo.
Kendrick Lamar: Quite the rising star nowadays, I think he will be an interesting addition to Bonnaroo. Hopefully he will bring in some hip-hop fans to the mix.
Billy Idol: Back from the 80s! It is a “nice day for a white wedding” indeed.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis: Ever the favorite, especially here at Eckerd, I believe there will be a great deal of fans at his concert.
“Weird Al” Yankovic: Well personally this is an artist I am not too crazy about but to each his own.
And these are just the headliners! If you can afford to, which I sadly cannot, invest in a Bonnaroo ticket this summer! I assure you the experience will be incredible, come prepared to be dirty, hot and ready to roll this June.
