Gabbing About 'Girls': Week 4
I would write an introduction but I’m still in a Beyoncé induced state of euphoria so nope.
- If they write off Elijah completely I will be so upset! People everywhere: Elijah is a cautionary tale to never have a sugar daddy because they will dump you and give all the stuff they bought you to your roommate!
-Does anyone actually use “honestly?” as an expression of exasperation?
-UM, Jessa put your “good boob” away plz n thxs.
-“I hate when people are early, it’s vile!” Same, girl. Same.
-Hannah’s article got published! If only it were that easy for me to get published as well. Lena Dunham, is this how free-lancing works? I just do a bunch of cocaine and maybe Thought Catalog will publish me? OK!
-I’m actually a closet Audrey fan. I completely get her. She’s pissed about her boyfriend still loving his ex. I get it.
-Hannah takes a step back in this episode. She thinks she is being super mature inviting Marnie to her dinner party when they are on bad terms, but she is actually being extremely selfish.
-I totally think being late somewhere on account of having sex is a totally valid excuse.
-The dinner scene was so uncomfortable but I actually loved Jessa here. She was being so authentic, as usual. She senses that her husband’s WASPy parents are judging her, so she decides to scare them by discussing the heroine addiction she had in college.
-Shoshanna is so naïve how does she not know what a butt plug is? Also, I really hate the word butt hole as well.
-I LOVE A GOOD CAT FIGHT. Audrey vs Marnie was perfect. The series needs more episodes like this.
-Hannah should have sided with Marnie and asked Audrey to leave.
-If I were Shoshanna I would be more than confused and angry, I would be livid that my boyfriend was living with me without my knowing. But… how did she not know?
-I really dislike Charlie. His hair is absurd and I want it shaved off. After he makes out with Marnie and she rejects him, he motions to his penis saying, “you will never get any of this,” well screw you, man! Marnie doesn’t need you.
-When Hannah finally stands up to Charlie after he calls Marnie the “C-word” I think it speaks volumes of their friendship. Thankfully Hannah knew it was the right thing to do, standing up for her friend… even if they’re in a fight themselves.
-“I feel how I think everyone feels: Like I have three or four good folk albums in them.” Quote of the episode.
-I would punch someone in the face too if they called me a “whore with no work ethic.” I write about TV shows for extra cash, I HAVE A WORK ETHIC, OKAY!?
-Ray and Shoshanna did a wonderful job acting this episode. They took a scene that could have come across as very campy and made it real. Although, it is way too early in their relationship to be exchanging “I love you”s.
-I have a confession—up until this episode, I disliked Jessa intensely. However, after her fight with her husband and the bathtub scene in which she sobs openly about her dissolved marriage, I want to give her an award. I hate it when people date free spirits just so they have an interesting story to tell. Up until this episode, I thought nothing could faze Jessa but after seeing her cry about her divorce, you can tell she actually wanted to make it work.
-Hannah’s scream though…
I have to wait two weeks for a new episode of Girls? That is the reason for the tear drops on my guitar.
