Super-Friendly Recipes for the Super Bowl

By Lucy Infeld on February 13, 2013

If you are anything like me, you associate everything with food. The Super Bowl is no exception. When thinking about the big game, all I wondered was what to eat during it. Unlike my friends who have kitchens at their disposal, I had the classic college student dilemma of what to make with only a small oven and mini fridge. I dug into all of my creative outlets and came up with the best two possible solutions: a great dip and a super rich and decadent dessert.

The dip is one of the simplest things to make that comes out looking amazing. It is my classic crab dip, a dish that is similar to the inside of the Chinese takeout crab rangoons:

Take one eight oz package of cream cheese and a standard can of crab dip. Combine the two in a bowl with a teaspoon of soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and one chopped scallion. It’s that simple! If you want to seve it warm, pop it in the oven for eight to ten minutes at three-hundred degrees. Serve with your favorite crackers and some veggies.

If you can’t decide between cookies or brownies for dessert, make both. Layer cookie dough in a pan, put Oreos on top, and finish with a thick layer of brownie batter. Cook for 18-22 minutes at three-hundred and fifty degrees, and serve warm with ice cream for an amazingly rich treat.

Enjoy the big game and be sure to have some Super Bowl-worthy snacks.
