2013 Presidential Inauguration Coverage
Lines began to form near the Capitol around 4 AM this morning. Those who held coveted tickets to the second Inauguration of Barack Obama stood through multiple checkpoints to be allowed entry into the sectioned fields in front of the Capitol, expanding to the National Mall.
With sectioned expanding beyond section in front of the Capital, spilling beyond the National Mall, thousands came to witness the swearing in ceremony of Obama.
Entertainment provided by Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson, and James Taylor, the inauguration attracted not only politicians, but celebrities as well. From Rosario Dawson to Eva Longoria, the Inauguration was a star studded event.
One notable person missing from the scene was Mitt Romney. While his running mate, Paul Ryan, was boo-ed by the audience, he was still in attendance nonetheless. George Bush was also absent.
Poet Richard Blanco read “One Today”, moving the crowd and signifying the start of a renewed era for America.
Obama got the crowd excited about his plans on continuing to make America a nation of excellence.
