Relaxation Station
After so many exams the best thing in the world to do is RELAX. Every once in a while people need to just “chill out”. I find myself having to live by some of these methods in order to keep from going absolutely crazy.
- Listening to music: Also known as music therapy, certain songs can help relax the mind. They do this by making the mind only focus on the song alone which cuts out an outside stresses.
- Lay in bed: In world where people are always rushing, it is nice to occasionally just stop.
- Go on a bike a ride: The constant rhythm of a bicycle can relax a person. It is also fun to explore new places.
- Go swimming: The feel of the water on skin is very soothing. Another form of water relaxation is through a nice long bath.
- Sip some tea: Teas have been known to help in relaxing. This occurs through 2 ways. First, the tea releases chemicals within the bran that calm the muscles. The second is through more of a metaphysical way.
- Eat some dark chocolate: Dark chocolate is the healthiest of all chocolates, and in my opinion the yummiest. Chocolate significantly reduces theta activity in the brain which is associated with relaxation.
- Control your breathing: The fastest way to slow down a rapid heart rate is to control breathing. By controlling breathing the body can return to its normal state.
- Go on a hike alone: Sometimes it is just nice to observe nature as it is: beautiful. One can watch the birds, feel the wind, and hear the rustling leaves.
- Do yoga: One of the most common forms of relaxation is yoga. In yoga, certain poses are used in order to relax the mind and body.
- Dance and sing: Dancing badly and singing badly are two of the funniest things to do. A form of relaxation is through having fun.
Overall these are just some of my favorites ways to de-tress after a stressful week.
