Kanye West Signs Artist Travi$ Scott to G.O.O.D. Music

After a surprise appearance on G.O.O.D. Music’s compilation album ‘Cruel Summer’ and much speculation, it is now confirmed that young artist and producer Travi$ Scott is signed to Kanye West’s label. On November 8th, Scott did an interview with Jeff and Eric Rosenthal from the web show “It’s The Real” in which they asked him “I’m Travi$ Scott and I’m signed to ‘blank’ music?” and he answered with “Good”. After making it official, it’s almost inevitable that this artist will be jumping out of the underground and making a real splash in the hip-hop scene.

Anyone who isn’t from Houston, or not an intense “hip hop head” who knows the underground scene may not have heard of Travi$ Scott, but he has slowly been creating buzz since 2011, making and producing songs with the likes of other up-and-comers, Meek Mill, Lex Luger, Casey Veggies, King Chip (formerly Chip Tha Ripper), and the new ROC Nation signee Hit-Boy.

Scott was noticed by most of the hip hop world when he appeared on the credits for the ‘Cruel Summer’ song ‘Sin City’ where he provided the beat to the song as well as a verse. This made people want to find out who this guy was and it earned him a 15 page expose titled ‘Who is Travi$ Scott’ on Complex Magazines’s Website Complex.com. After the article in early October, many speculations arose that he had been signed to Kanye’s G.O.O.D. music label, but nothing had been confirmed and not much other work had surfaced to support the theory. After the “It’s The Real” interview we can now confirm that he is indeed the newest signee. With G.O.O.D. Music preparing for a bunch of releases such as another compilation titled ‘Cruel Winter’, new superstar Big Sean’s second album ‘Hall of Fame’, and Kid Cudi’s album ‘Indicud’, we will be waiting to see if he will appear on any of these albums. He is also set to release an EP titled ‘Owl Pharaoh’ which is coming soon. He has one release from the EP that is available on his website www.travis-x.com, which is featuring King Chip. Now it is time to see if Kanye West will continue his great success of finding and making superstars; with Kid Cudi, Big Sean, and Pusha-T, his track record doesn’t seem to be too bad.
