Halloween: A Great Excuse to be Sexy or Scary!

Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday. The time of year just makes everything better. Falling leaves, a mild chilly breeze, and some hot chocolate make for the perfect night. Part of the reason that Halloween is so great is the fact that everyone gets to pretend to be something they are not for one night. That is why I don’t have an issue with sexy Halloween costumes.

Every year, I hear the same rants about girls that wear somewhat risque Halloween costumes. “Omg, what a sl*t! Who does she think she is?!” Well, I am here to tell you that I am a supporter of the sexy Halloween costume. Why? Because I think that it is okay for a girl to go out wearing something ridiculously revealing one night of the year. If someone calls her a sl*t, then her costume is working isn’t it? She probably isn’t a sl*t every other day of the year! She is pretending to be something she is not! Also, I give props to the girls that are ready and willing to go party in sexy outfits. I think that that kind of confidence is admirable. Girls that wear those things are obviously comfortable in their own skin, and thus they probably don’t care about the petty things other girls have to say.

On the other hand, seeing a girl decked out in a legitimately scary costume is refreshing. I like to see that someone who is as dedicated to the original idea of Halloween as I am. I enjoy being really scared and going through the best haunted houses, as opposed to drinking the night away at a Halloween themed club party.

As far as this year goes, I’m not sure exactly what I am going to be doing on Halloween night. But I have thought about my costume more than I should have! I think I am going to go with a sexy Lieutenant Ahura from Star Trek–sexy and nerdy all at once! That’s what I want to do, but everyone should take the chance to be whatever they want to be on Halloween, no matter what everyone else thinks!
