A$AP Rocky Featuring Drake, 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar Drop “F*ckin’ Problem”
As of October 18th, ASAP Rocky dropped his new single, “F*cking Problem,” featuring Drake, 2 Chainz, and Kendrick Larmar. My first reaction to the song was based on the title. ASAP Rocky has been making his way in the music industry ever since he put out his mixtape. “LiveLoveASAP” featuring his hit songs, “Palace” and “Bass”. With that being said, the title of this song was intriguing to me because of the other artists that it featured. Clear evidence that ASAP is making headway in the music industry is that fact that he’s now working along side some of the industries most famous artists.
Working alongside Noah “40” Shebib, these four rap artists were able to put together an excellent and fluid new song with an amazing chorus. The song starts off with a soft intro and drops right into the chorus around the twenty-second mark. The essence of Drake is immediately felt as he is especially featured in the chorus but also has his own verse later in the song.
Although I was not incredibly impressed by the song that these artists had put together, I did think that it was up to the expectations that I had before I even clicked play. Kendrick Lamar has a fascinating ability to create amazing verses with creative lyrics. I wasn’t surprised when he concluded the final verse of the song, seeing as he was recently dubbed the lyricist of the year at the BET Awards over rappers such as Kanye West, Nas, and others.
If you haven’t heard of ASAP Rocky before, you can catch up with the rest of the world by logging onto his website here: http://www.asapmob.com/ I recommend downloading “LiveLoveASAP” as soon as possible if you haven’t already, no pun intended. The whole mix tape is well put together and cohesive enough that you can listen to it from the first to last song and genuinely enjoy every song that you listen to. However, not only does ASAP Rocky create his own material, he is also part of a group called ASAP Mob, who put out a mix tape called, “Lords Never Worry” not too long ago. This is also worth a download. ASAP is scheduled to release his debut studio album, “LongLiveASAP” on October 31st, which based on his previous material should be one of the hit albums of 2012.
