4 Tips For Watching The Presidential Debates

By Jeremy Yowell on October 17, 2012

Watch the presidential s! Why? Because they’re entertaining! Even if you don’t care about the upcoming election, which I don’t know why you wouldn’t, they’re still very entertaining to watch. Seeing two obviously opposed men thinly veil their disdain for each other in front of the world? How is that not interesting? Here are some tips to improve your viewing experience (even if all the s have occurred by the time you read this, you can go back and watch them online).

1. Get a group together!

Grab some friends and get in front of the TV together to watch the s. Perhaps afterwards y’all can have some very enlightened conversations. Which brings me to my next point…

2. Watch it with someone highly opinionated.

Having discussions are great but if you watch the with someone who works themselves into a fervor over politics, its great fun to see how they react.

3. Go in with low expectations.

Don’t expect detailed explanations for the candidates’  views or constructive criticism. That’s not the point. The point is for the candidates to essentially argue the bullet points of their campaign platforms, and glare at each other between discussions.

4. Go online during or after.

Google the either during or afterwards and find out what people are thinking. The worst you’ll find is ignorance or anger. Hopefully you’ll find some great discussions, and maybe a sarcastic tweet or two.

I hope this helps you to improve your overall experience! Happy debating!
