The 7 best things about fall
So midterm season just passed and now I can focus on the best season of all: fall. There are so many great aspects to the fall season, and here’s a list of my top 7.
1. Sweater/boot weather
The weather is changing from the 100+ degree weather of summer to the nice, cool 60s and 70s of fall. With this cooler weather comes, everyone pulls out the sweaters and boots, walking around campus looking comfy. There are so many different styles and looks for sweaters and boots that this look will never get old, or any less comfortable.
2. Pumpkin flavored everything
One of my favorite things to eat is pumpkin, and with fall in the air, everything is pumpkin-flavored. Pumpkin spiced lattes. Pumpkin cheesecake. Pumpkin waffles. Pumpkin pie. The list goes on and on, and I’m okay with that.
3. Football season
Part of being a student at OU is being excited for the football season, and there’s nothing like the great atmosphere of being at a football game, surrounded by fellow Sooner fans dressed in crimson and cream, cheering your team on to a victory. BOOMER SOONER.
4. Halloween/pumpkin carving
One of my favorite holidays in Halloween, a time filled with candy, friends, and fun. Dressing up is always an interesting, exciting event, and having the ability to dress up as any and everything makes way for many different costumes. I can’t wait until it’s Halloween on campus, so I can just sit outside and people watch. Pumpkin carving is also another perfect fall event, and it’s just one of those classic things that everyone should experience.
5. Warm drinks
The weather is colder, and just grabbing a warm drink warms you from the inside out, spreading to a smile on your face. Hot chocolate, different-flavored lattes, apple cider, hot tea. Mhmm, whether you grab one on the way to class or just as a mid-afternoon pick-me-up, warm drinks always hit the spot.
6. New fall TV season
So after spending all summer on Netflix watching new shows and catching up on old shows I couldn’t watch during the school year, the new fall TV season is back! Since I’ve been focused on classes and homework, my list of future shows to watch is growing, and I’m okay with that.
7. Beautiful campus
Every single day I wake up and every time I walk from class to class, I look around and realize just how beautiful the University of Oklahoma campus is. And with fall edging its way in, the campus is becoming even more beautiful, with the large abundance of trees and the slight change of color in the leaves, there is always something to look and marvel at. I’m so glad that I have the opportunity to live on such a beautiful campus with so much to see.
