Northampton Urban Exchange
Consigning your old clothing can be a fun and an easy way for students to make some extra cash. For those of you who love consigning, visiting Urban Exchange located at 233 Main St. in Northampton is a must. This small consignment boutique accepts mostly designer and brand name clothing and accessories but sales associate, Amelia, says “We mostly look for damages to rule things out.”
Unlike many consignment shops, no appointment is necessary and you don’t need to bring in everything on a hanger to be accepted. You can just bring in an entire bag (but not a trash bag) of clothes you don’t wear, the employees will sort through it and the clothes they accept will be on the floor, ready to be sold within 24 hours.
Shopping at this consignment store makes it easy to be both eco-conscious and label-conscious. You can find designer clothing for a fraction of the retail cost.

Amelia said that the store has been open for about five years. She has a lot of regular customers who like to both shop and bring in clothes to consign. If you consign clothing at Urban Exchange, you will be able to receive their awesome 20% off deal off of full-price items!
On my recent trip to Urban Exchange, my attention was focused on a rack of cashmere sweaters, shirts, and three Prada bags above the counter. On the website, you can find a page called “window shop” where the employees post particularly exciting high-end clothing and accessories that they receive. Urban Exchange’s merchandise changes at a quick rate, so hurry up and go see for yourself!
