Fashion Tips for the Upcoming Fall Season

It’s officially fall, and even though we will not see signs of this for a few more weeks in sunny Florida, it’s never too early to start preparing our wardrobes. Personally, fall is my favorite time of year, both for the weather and the fashion. Scarves, sweaters, boots, and jeans—what’s not to love? There are so many great pieces and styles that we get to break out when the weather gets cool, so here is a quick summary of the biggest trends this year.

Equestrian Boots
Equestrian boots are classic, timeless, and luxurious. This year they are definitely a hot item. Available in many colors, they look best in a cognac or red-brown shade. They are incredibly versatile, they can be dressed up or down, paired with anything from a dress and tights to a sweater and jeans, even a pretty top and a blazer. They are definitely a great investment that will last for years, and earn you plenty of compliments!

Patterned/Colored Jeans
Jeans are a fall wardrobe staple, and we all love this essential American style. However, the narrow choices of light, medium, or dark wash can get a little boring. This year, we get the opportunity to let our jeans be the statement piece with all of the colorful options hitting stores this season. Brightly colored jeans are a great way to add a pop to an outfit, just make sure you keep the rest of your outfit a bit more muted. And try to go with dark blues, greens, reds, etc. as opposed to the neons and pastels that dominated this past spring and summer. Patterned jeans are also a big seller. Everything from polka dots to florals to cheetah print, in a wide range of colors can be found in stores. They make any outfit instantly cooler; just make sure you keep the rest of the outfit classy so they don’t look too childish. And mixing patterns is definitely allowed, just keep one print big and bold and one smaller and subtle.

Leopard Print
Animal print is almost always in style, and fall is a great time to wear leopard, whether in grey or brown. Everything from flats to sweaters, scarves, jewelry, coats, and even jeans can be purchased in leopard print. This edgy look adds some fun and sex appeal to an outfit, without having to show any extra skin and sacrificing warmth.

Moto Jackets
Leather jackets are a must-have for cold weather. They add a rich feel to an outfit, and are classic cool. Motorcycle jackets are definitely a big trend this fall. They add an edge to a feminine outfit, providing great contrast to a pretty dress or a polished outfit. They’re great for layering and will last for years.

The great thing about fall is that there are staples that everyone needs, and you get to add your own twist with pattern, color, and specific style. Adding any or all of these trends to your wardrobe is fun and exciting, but making them your own is by far the best part. Hopefully these tips will help you find that perfect fall piece.
