What to do With your Away Game Day in Tallahassee
Saturdays just won’t be the same here in Tallahassee for a while with two away games in a row! Two weeks of no crazy spirited fans walking down the sidewalk, no tailgates to socialize at, and no enter the hallowed grounds of Doak Campbell stadium to watch our team dominate once again. So, what are you going to do to watch these games? Don’t worry though because there isn’t a game day that Tallahassee misses which gives students and fans a like a chance to still sit and enjoy the game, in the nice cool air conditioning with no sun beating down on your back. Whether you enjoy the lively atmosphere of a true sports bar or your style is more relaxed and you would rather sit in a restaurant and have a few drinks while watching the game, Tallahassee has it all for you.
For those of you who like that true sports bar atmosphere the places are limitless. For those students that are transportationally challenged you can always try out Tomahawk Sports Bar and Grill. It’s right on campus caters to all of your game day sporting needs. Whether you want to sit inside or outside you can not only order delicious burgers and wings but also salads, wraps, hoagies, and hotdogs. Along with a fully equipped bar with all kinds of choices. If something a little more of campus is your style but still close to home your best bet would be AJ’s Sports Bar. AJ’s is a little more college town geared as well, they have all kinds of ways to hang out and interact with other people while watching the game or just to hang out and have a good time in general. Not only can you order off a full menu or huge bar here too but they also have high and low tables scattered all around to hang out at as well as dart games against one wall and beer pong tables across the back side of the other wall. With TVs turned to all kinds of games posted up on the back wall.
Or if hanging out inside and playing a little pool is more your style, you can always try Corner Pocket Sports Bar down on Apalachee Parkway. With two huge beer tubs overflowing with drinks and a whole wall covered in shelf’s of alcohol, Corner Pocket is ready to help you your game day needs. Although it is more of a local sports bar having a slight older crowd the game day spirit is still just as strong if not stronger. With a varied menu you can have a good time with your friends, make some new friends, and eat some gator tail. And we can’t forget the ever popular Beef ‘O’ Bradys, the sports bar and restaurant made for the fans. Where you can sit, eat, order some drinks, and watch the noles play a little football.
