For All Those Music Lovers
Almost everywhere we turn we are surrounded by this one thing. It’s an overwhelming “thing”; it’s the anthem to our days and our lives. This thing controls our moods, amplifies our memories, and sways our way of looking at the specific moment we’re in. This thing is music. Music is essential to our everyday life but I don’t think people realize how important it can really be. Everywhere we turn someone has earphones plugged in and they are in their own world. It controls our emotions completely by the choice of song in a specific moment. A professor once told me that the meaning of a song depends on the beholder, and that meaning is of great importance.
Recently I have been attending several concerts and embracing the art of music. It amazes me how the crowd of so many individuals turns into one singular figure in just a matter of seconds to a song playing. On top of that feeling, you get the chills and the immense appreciation you feel for that moment with that song playing in the background, and you notice everyone’s interpretation. One song can make you cry but to the person next to you, it’s a song that brings them happy memories, but no matter what, this song brings you all together.
Maybe you aren’t at a concert but you’re in your room. You have your favorite artist playing and you are dancing or just lying there listening. Whatever it is, that song makes that moment important to you. It is crazy to think how powerful music can be over our emotions. After a bad day some people come home and listen to something soothing or upbeat. We rely so heavily on music and it’s important that we remember all that music can do for us.
I have come to the conclusion that we sometimes forget the importance of music and don’t appreciate it like we should. We don’t realize that without music, our lives would be mute other than speaking. Music is not just art but it’s an expression, a way of communication from the creator to the listener. Music is everywhere we go and is one of those things that should be appreciated more.
