Annual Hot Dog Caper
The summer is over and school has begun reining in the usual academic schedules and the familiar Cal Poly Pomona lifestyle. It’s a time to move back onto campus, or close by so you can get to classes, and for things coinciding with the summer to be put away…or is it?
The summer isn’t quite over yet for the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos. A bit of the sunshine and that summery feel is still with us while we get to know new incoming freshmen, transfer students and new roommates. Cal Poly is putting on an event that will allow you to kick back and relax for a moment while enjoy the last bit of the simmering summer that will most likely be one of the last and the largest barbeques that you will probably have in 2012. Oh, and did I mention the barbeque was free?
Who doesn’t love free food? Probably some very strange people—but that’s beside the point. For those of you who are on or budget or just hungry the 29th annual Hot Dog Caper will take place tomorrow from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. No need to bring anything but yourself on to campus and spend your U-hour chomping on veggie or regular hotdogs and hanging out with the majority of the Cal Poly Pomona student body.
More than 15,000 hot dogs, chips, ice cream and Pepsi products will be served for free in the University Park which is perfect for those students who want to grab something to eat on the way to their next class. The campus tradition will include music by 90 Proof, games and fun activities promoting Bronco spirit.
The atmosphere will be amazing and everyone there usually has a lot of fun, so be sure to come out to this awesome event tomorrow and join the fun as we all welcome the new school year.
