Things I've learned at college
I’ve learned many things here while attending Washington State University, but when it comes down to it, no amount of book-knowledge can out do the things I’ve learned about life. And here are just a few:
Nothing beats a home-cooked meal.
No matter the size or people living with you, a dorm room will never be large enough.
No matter how late my classes start, I will typically miss my first one. And maybe my second.
Dorm room closets don’t have nearly enough space in them, nor will they ever.
High school homework? Please. It’s nothing compared to college.
College profs don’t care if you’re sick with a cold, so suck it up.
Living on your own isn’t that hard, it’s just different from what you’re used to. Again: suck it up.
Money is tight and time is even more so.
Getting packages and mail will never, ever, be more exciting than it is now.
“Getting no sleep,” is literal, not figurative.
People may be attending college, but they can still lack the common sense they did in high school.
Top Ramen is good for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and all snacks.
Printers and printer ink will never be more valuable than they are to me now.
Washing machines and dryers are such commodities.
Finding friends is as simple as you make it– go out and meet people.
You can have best friends from high school, but in college you may (possibly) find even better.
You never replace friends with new people, just make more room in your heart.
Sharing clothes with friends isn’t for convenience, it’s a necessity.
People respect openness and a genuine personality.
College doesn’t make you lose your morals, it helps you find the ones you actually believe in.
Caffeine isn’t just for the mornings, its for all day- everyday.
