Freshmen: It's Your Life Now!
For every freshman, coming to college is a huge adjustment.
For the past 18 years, your parents were always on hand. They bought your food, helped you with your homework, told you to clean your room, and made sure that your every need was met.
Well now, that’s your job.
With your newfound freedom comes an abundance of newfound respnsibility, but also opportunities and potential you didn’t even know you had.
Your time has come to explore the possibilities of what you can accomplish and who you can be.
Meet as many people as you can and get involved on campus.
Talk to your professors and work with them. They care about you and they are there to offer you support and help you realize and take charge of your potential.
Roll with the punches! Be thankful for your success and take each challenge one at a time. If you need help, ask for it.
Learn from the faculty and student leaders on campus. At one point, they were freshmen and they were in the same situation you’re in now.
Find your niche and grow in it.
Whether you rush for a sorority or fraternity, join up with an honors society that pertains to you major, or take a roll in the greater good of your school by joining student government, even now you have the power to use your talents and make an impact.
Strive to make the most of your life and become the best person you can be. There are a million and one opportunites out there you could take and now is the time to start looking for the one that you want to pursue.
Hundreds of generations of people have come before you, made names for themselves and succeeded in life beyond all expectations.
Add your name to the list of the greats. It all starts right now.
Your life begins when your comfort zone ends and you are all at that point.
