What To Do on a Snow Day in College

By Andreas Fanos on February 20, 2024

People living on the East Coast really understand the value of a snow day. As snow lines the rooftops, pathways, bushes, and tree climbs, it means an entire day of rest, and at college this can be a total God-send.

One of the most notable things someone can do on a snow day in college is go out the night before, realizing there will be no courses tomorrow. It can easily turn a Wednesday into a Friday. A group of friends can go out for drinks or just go out to eat at an establishment and go to the club after.

The next best thing someone can choose to do on a snow day is what everyone knows: look through Netflix and watch different TV show series or watch a couple of movies. It can be tempting and relaxing to stay inside the dorm and watch Netflix with a peaceful mind. It is equally not a bad idea to order food and avoid the school cafeteria altogether if it is open or closed early. This is never a bad plan.

Another great activity, depending on the layout of the campus, is getting a group of people together and riding sleds or snowboarding down hills. This is not something I did but I can see how it is fun for others while being away from home. This also works on par with having a snowball fight, never a bad thing and an activity everyone can partake in.

For those who are late on assignment submissions or who need to study, this is a lucky day for them to catch up on work to make sure they get a good grade on an upcoming test or to finish up a paper.

As can be seen, a snow day can work for everyone. Students can use it as a rest day or as a day to catch up on late work or assignments. It can also just be used as a day to go out the day before or stay in and relax.
