Need Stress Relief? Try a Nice Glass of Tea
We all feel it at times. Stress. It can even be daunting in college with assignments piling on and having to study for upcoming tests or quizzes. College is a time for fun and finding oneself but putting off work to the side can endanger grades. With everything going on, college can surely be a time for focusing on mental health if things get out of hand. Between studying, trying to socialize, playing sports, partying, doing homework and assignments, completing internships, or also working while in school, this is what comes from being a young adult.
College students can find ways to destress during the year by playing sports or working out, attending clubs and social events, getting much-needed rest, or hanging out with friends. However, a nice glass of tea could also help remedy anxiety and boost focus and concentration, especially if there is work needed to be done late at night in the dorm. Tea can help to destress and declutter the mind.
In comes Meep Tea, a new tea company with its own twist on stress relief. Started by a couple in New Jersey, the two started their own tea brand after dealing with stress and wanting to take care of it through traditional methods rather than medicine or pills. The founders, Zach and Anahi Kramer, started this project in hopes to help relieve their stress and wanting to help others through their tea.
Each bag comes with 14 pyramid tea bags and is marketed for kids, parents, and of course, college students. The tea contains 2.5 MG of chamomile and 200 MG of L-Theanine. L-Theanine is described as a natural amino acid to help induce relaxation and a sense of calm. The two believe these two ingredients work well together to relieve stress. The tea is described to help elevate mood and induce a calming feeling.
Each package with 14 tea bags costs $24.99. What makes this tea different from traditional green tea or other teas is it contains less caffeine. Chamomile tea contains no caffeine and this is a more effective way to reduce stress. This can surely be seen as a good alternative to help college students relax and complete their work.
I myself am an avid tea drinker and believe this tea is different because it contains chamomile. I typically drink green and black tea for the health benefits and for some caffeine, as I do not drink coffee. Tea has generally helped me lose weight, improve my focus, and get me ready for the day and drinking it has now become a daily routine for me. This tea has been praised by drinkers for being able to calm them down and help them get needed rest and I’d recommend other students try it to see if it helps relieve their stress.
