App Review: Surviving High School
While browsing through the endless Google Play or Apple store, have you ever stumbled upon a very addictive app only to find out that it has a comparatively low amount of downloads? I must say that this grinds my app loving gears. I began to question my judgment as to whether or not certain apps are truly worth the download.
As an Android OS user, I decided to take a closer look at one of my favorite underrated Android apps to get a better understanding of why it has not shot through the rough and become as popular as Temple Run, Draw Something, or Instagram.
EA’s Surviving High School(100k – 500k downloads)
This highly addictive choose your own adventure styled interactive storytelling game lets the user experience many aspects of high school and college. It even offers a free new episode every week. This app developed by Electronic Arts hit the markets in 2011. Filled with mini-adventures, the app averages 3.5 out of 5 stars through the Google play user reviews. “Love it! I wish the extra games were free though,” one user said. “I love games where you get to choose what to do.”
Regardless of my addiction to this game, I have noticed several drawbacks that I suppose readers might not particularly be drown to the application. While many episodes are interesting, it would be more enticing if the user didn’t have to purchase episodes or wait an entire week until a free episode – that doesn’t follow the same storyline – becomes available.
Even after the new update, there are still some issues with the app force closing.
“I enjoyed this game for the first few days I had it, however, I have not been able to play this game lately. I keep hoping that it’ll be fixed but it never is.” One use elaborated. “I’m starting to want a refund. If my phone is incompatible I shouldn’t have been able to download the game. Who do I contact to get a refund?” the customer continued.
If the app developers could just get it together, this app could be the next big thing. The Surviving High School app is available to both Android OS and Apple users. Give it try and let us know what you think.
