3 Reasons Why Hybrid Work Is The Future

When it comes to picking a location to work from, everyone has their own unique preference. Some love the peace and quiet of their home, while others prefer the day-to-day banter and movement brought about by working from the office. People might even find comfort working from their local coffee shop, from their poolside lounge chair, from a park near their apartment, or from virtually any other location that you can possibly think of. Both remote work and office work have their merits, but while the longstanding debate between enthusiasts of each approach continues, I want to tell you 3 reasons why hybrid work is the future.

1. Hybrid work means freedom. Yep, that’s right: when you’re working in a hybrid environment, you’re free to make your own choices when it comes to how and where you work. Do you work best in your PJs on your balcony? Great. Do you do your best work when you’re suited up at the office, surrounded by colleagues? Awesome. Are you most successful when you’re doing all your work from a coffee shop that’s three towns away from where you live? Wonderful. Or, do you perhaps want to combine all of these work environments into one week of work? Even better. The hybrid work model gives you the freedom and flexibility to choose the work environment that’s right for you. Every. Single. Day. You don’t have to commit to a work location, you can move around, and you can come in and out of the office as you please. It’s the ultimate work model, really.

2. Working hybrid gives you the best of both worlds. Maybe you like to do your writing at home while joining in-person for meetings with your colleagues. Perhaps you like to switch up your routine, spending three days at home and two in the office every week. Or you just like the occasional change of scenery, so you commit to working more days from the office while taking a few days every once in a while to venture out to new remote working locations. The hybrid model gives you the chance to take advantage of the best of both worlds – working remotely and working from the office – without having to commit to one.

3. The hybrid model has everyone’s best interests in mind. This working model is the best one (when implemented correctly), because it has every party’s best interests in mind. Employees get to work from the locations that are conducive to their productivity, whether that means spending more time at home, at the office, or at another convenient location. Meanwhile, employers can rest assured that their employees are producing their best work possible, because they’re being given the freedom and trust to make decisions based on what works best for them as individuals.

There’s no “one size fits all” approach when it comes to working models, but the hybrid model comes pretty darn close, offering employees the chance to make choices for themselves that work best for them, both professionally and personally. As somebody who has worked strictly in-person, remotely, and hybrid, I can attest to the fact that hybrid working is an absolute game changer, and I don’t think I could ever go back to an environment where hybrid working isn’t an option.
