Top 5 nostalgic movies on Disney+

By Mariah Pearson on August 24, 2021

Those born in the 90s and early 2000s are creeping our way into adult hood. Some of us are having or already have kids of our own. We still want to remember our favorite movies. Disney+ was a dream come true as it gave us the opportunity to relive our childhood, unlimitedly. My siblings and I, aged 19-26, came up with five nostalgic movies on Disney+ (in no particular order) that made us feel like kids again.

Let’s head down memory lane for a minute.

1. Toy Story (1995)

The film of everyone’s favorite talking toys taking risky adventures to save one another will always be a classic. We can all agree that the song, “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” would stay stuck in our heads for days. Toy Story taught us the importance of friendship and to never leave a friend behind.

2. A Goofy Movie (1995)

Mickey’s best friend Goofy and his son Max take us on an epic journey across the country to attend a concert. This was the movie you would take on a family road trip to watch in the car and sing and dance along. Powerline was definitely the highlight of the film and the legendary song we would all dance to, “Eye to eye”.

3. Little Mermaid (1989)

This one is more for my girls that wished to be a mermaid when they got older. We first learned about the idea of love at first sight watching this movie. Although we were young and did not fully understand at the time, we realized how important our voice really is.

4. Cars (2005)

There is a whole land dedicated in California Adventure because of this epic film! Our favorite tow truck Mater will always make you laugh every time you watch the movie. In this movie we learn the true meaning of happiness and caring for others. Let’s admit, we all imagined faces on real cars after watching this movie.

5. Lion King (1994)

Did I accidentally save the best movie for last? Well that is up to you to decide, but we can agree that this film is one of the best Disney films of all time. Lion King has so many classic songs and sayings we will never forget. This movie is always a great film to revisit time and time again.

Well there is your list. There are so many more nostalgic movies that I can list that can bring us back to being a kid. Just browse Disney+ and head over to the “Nostalgic Vibes” category! Hakuna Matata!
