Time for Some Yum Yums
As a lover of eating, I am very critical when it comes to food. Always a picky eater, there isn’t much I will put in my mouth. Though I’ve recently started adding more vegetables to my diet. Any who, coming from a place where you can’t go very far without some sort of food place, I’ve had my fair share of it (my parents made me go). Aside from my favorite chains, Subway, Panda Express, and Chick-fil-A, there are only a handful of places that I will never get tired of.
These next couple of restaurants are rare, and by that I mean you’d have to travel deep into Texas, because it’s the only place you’ll find them. But none-the-less, it’ll be worth it.
(They are in no particular order)
1. Tony’s Mexican Restaurant
I may be of Mexican descent, but I really don’t care for Mexican, or Tex-Mex food. Tony’s is a little different. Their enchiladas are the best I’ve ever had. The sopapillas are heavenly. And for those of you who are 21 and older, one margarita and you’ll be good to go. And the best part is that it’s not too pricey either. So if you’re ever in Houston, you should hit this place up. 2222 Ella Boulevard, Houston, Tx 77008
2. Laynes
Aggies, along with a chosen few people know what I’m talking about. The first time you go there, order the chicken finger plate, with potato salad. Any other time you can order whatever you want, but I doubt you’ll want to deviate from the plate. I haven’t. Now what comes with this plate, you ask? I’ll tell you. 5 chicken fingers, crinkle fries, Texas toast, potato salad, and Layne’s very own secret sauce. Not literally, but they put crack in the sauce. No, really. It’s an experience you can’t explain. The only two locations are in College Station. 106 Walton Dr., College Station, Tx 77840 1307 Wellborn Rd., College Station, Tx 77840
3. Connie’s Frozen Custard
No, it’s not a restaurant, but you’ll be full after eating here. While attempting to be healthy, a lot of people have turned away from ice cream, and the new craze is frozen yogurt. Yes, I still love both, but my friend, if you haven’t already, you need to try frozen custard. My personal favorite is the Texas Tornado. It’s just vanilla frozen custard, fresh strawberries, and chocolate chips blended together into an enchanting dessert. 12545 Jones Rd., Houston, Tx 77070
I honestly don’t know why Guy Fieri hasn’t been to any of these places. Even though they don’t have his stamp of approval, yet, you should still check them out. Happy eating. (:
