Life Coach Mike Bayer Teaches Readers to be Their Best Selves

By Tamiera Vandegrift on August 15, 2019

With the prevalence of social media influencers and Instagram models, it’s difficult to reconnect with reality and maintain healthy self-esteem. Life coach, Mike Bayer has the formula to get your life back on track.

Mike Bayer, known by his clients as “Coach Mike”, is an expert at helping people become the best version of themselves while breaking through the obstacles that have held them back for so long. His effective coaching methods and hard work earned him a spot as the first-ever regular contributor on the #1 rated Dr. Phil show as well as membership into Dr. Phil’s advisory board. The board is comprised of 18 of the most well-acclaimed and regarded health care professionals in the nation.

In January 2019, Bayer took his hard work and teaching methods and compiled them into his first book, a guide for people to become their very own personal life coach while putting a plan in action to become their very best selves.

The book is called Best Self: Be You, Only Better and through its interactive, inspirational teaching techniques, it has the power to change the world as we know it.

“I wanted to have somebody be able to have all my work. It’s like working with me as your life coach,” said Bayer,  “It’s written in such a way to make people feel as though they’re working with me.”

Best Self: Be You, Only Better is more than your typical self-help book. The book contains informative quizzes, thought-provoking questionnaires, and inspirational creative drawing exercises to help readers make a tangible change in their lives the very minute they start reading. This style allows readers to have a personalized plan tailored specifically to their needs and goals.

The book begins by asking readers to describe their Best Self and their Anti-Self. The Anti-Self is characterized by negativity, triggered by anxieties and fears. The Best Self lives free from these obstacles.

“I think [young people] fall into what social media says you should be, which is a manipulated universe and I think the trap is comparing your insides to someone else’s outsides,” said Bayer, “I think a trap [young people fall into] is focusing on the problem instead of the solution.”

After the reader identifies their Best Self and their Anti-Self, Coach Mike takes readers through the seven spheres of life, which includes:

  • Education

  • Employment

  • Health

  • Personal life, or the relationship with oneself

  • Social life

  • Spiritual development

Bayer believes that the world can be changed for the better once people learn to empower themselves and each other while spreading positivity into the world.

“I only post positive things online ever,” said Bayer, “If my perspective is not within peace or not truly helping people, I don’t want to be a part of any of the problems.”

By contributing positive change both within and without, Bayer believes that people can improve themselves for the better, and in doing so, improve the world around them.

“There is a pervasive belief in society that people can’t change, not really. That is absolutely 100% untrue,” said Bayer in an interview with UWire, “I’ve seen people overcome all odds. People change. They did. You can.”
