Savor the Last Bit of Summer
With summer coming to a close and the fall semester looming over us all, enjoy your last few weeks of freedom rather than dreading the inevitable classes and studying that will soon fill your time.
Go on a camping trip where you can sleep under the stars, make s’mores and play a game of cards while letting technology go for a few days.
If you’re not a fan of bugs and lizards or you’re attached to the WiFi on your smart phone, go down to the beach and relax in the sun.
Who doesn’t love that?
If you’re stuck at home, grab a good book and settle in for hours at a time, enthralled in a new novel. Go for a hike and actually take time to smell the roses, while you still have the time to do so.
Call up your friends and go see the latest blockbuster hit, whether it be the action-packed thriller, ”The Dark Knight Rises,” the rather raunchy “Magic Mike,” or whatever else suits your preferences.
Embrace spontaneity, whether it be going sky-diving or trying Indian food. It’s completely up to you!
As college students, we haven’t quite come into the real world yet, but whether it be in six months or in five years, you will receive your college diploma and be launched off into adulthood.
In the meantime, you need to prepare yourself for life on your own, but take some time out to enjoy what’s left of your childhood, even though technically, you are an adult.
Don’t do anything life-threatening or incredibly stupid, but live life to the fullest.
You are on the cusp of the real world, but you’ve got the responsbility for your own life. What you do is your choice and no one else can tell you how to live your life.
Therefore, enjoy the time you have left to not worry about bills, taxes, a job that pays real money, a mortgage and all of the problems that will hit you in the face before you have time to adjust to them.
Now is the time to live like you’ve never lived before and like you never will again.
