  1. Connect to different social media networks to connect to business owners so that you can network with this class of people to share your knowledge, skills, techniques, experience, and personality.  Therefore, when you graduate from college you are in front of the rest of the students connecting to business by getting the job of your dreams.
  2. Use social media outlets to connect and stay in contact with family, friends, teachers, and mentors.  It’s good to stay in touch with teachers or people who can vouch for you about your life because these individual(s) can be used when recommendation letters are needed, excluding family members.  Make sure to stay connected to your college friends because they can become an inspiration to your life.
  3. Use social media to go and find out about people, places and things. You might think you know somebody’s personality or what they are all about but once you go to their social media platform and they are letting the world see their real and true self; you might be surprised what they are showing when they think people they know are not looking or paying attention. In simple words, be careful what you allow yourselves as college students to connect to because some people judge on the company you are keeping in your life.
  4. Use social media to research information, data, ideas, and opinions of other people to allow different analysis and results to show how individuals think in the same or different ways.
  5. Different social media networks allow individuals to upload videos on their platform.  Therefore, if you are a student who is studying communication, behavior, impressions, or body movement, these types of social media networks can be used to perform studies.

Five things college students should not do while on social media platforms:

  1. Don’t put out false information about people, things, events, etc. Things that you don’t know, do or know how to do to mislead the public for gain or profit.
  2. Don’t gossip about things you heard and don’t know to be true by an individual who is just spreading rumors on another individual’s platform to destroy another individual’s reputation or livelihood.
  3. Don’t use profanity and threats in your video or comment section or on another individual’s platform thinking because it’s a platform belongs to somebody else YouTube administrator won’t know the statement was made by you, try to avoid doing these type of things to protect your reputation and standing in life.
  4. Don’t go around onto social media networks and talk about close friends, family members, co-workers, bosses, mentors, or teacher’s business that was shared within a confidential setting, always put integrity before anything else in life.
  5. Don’t be afraid or lazy to go and research information before you put out image or stories, about people, places, and things.
