By Alyssa Laffitte on November 19, 2017

Fall time presents an opportunity to make some adorable fall-themed crafts with the kids you are babysitting. Keep the kids (and yourself) entertained by making these quick, easy, and fun crafts with them! You might have even made some of these yourself when you were a kid!

Paper Plate Wreath

It’s not Christmas just yet, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to make a beautiful wreath. Here’s how to make it:

Things you’ll need: paper plate, scissors, glue, leaves

1. Fold a paper plate in half and cut a hole in it so that it’ll look like a donut once it’s unfolded.

2. Unfold the paper plate and glue leaves all around it until you have a beautiful, colorful, fall wreath!

Fall Leaf Crown

The fall leaf crown is similar to the wreath, but it’s wearable! It’s just as simple, easy, and fun to make.

Things you’ll need: construction paper, scissors, glue, leaves

1. Cut one or two pieces of construction paper into the shape of a crown. (I recommend using two pieces since one might not be long enough to fit the child’s head. If you use two, you can always trim down the second piece of paper!)

2. Glue the ends together to make a crown.

3. Glue some fall leaves onto the crown.

Hand Turkey Drawings

The hand turkey is a classic fall craft for kids. It’s quick, easy, and fun to make, and the end result is really cute! Here’s how to make it.

Things you’ll need: regular paper, pencil, and crayons

1. Place your non-dominant hand on the piece of paper.
2. Trace it with a pencil.
3. You have now drawn the outline of a turkey! Your thumb is the turkey’s face, while your fingers are its tail feathers.
4. Color in your turkey with the crayons.

Maple Leaf Turkeys

Use maple leaves to make little turkeys!

Things you’ll need: maple leaves, googly eyes, tacky glue, orange construction paper, red tissue paper, scissors

1. Glue two maple leaves together, letting the one on the back sit higher than the one in the front. (The back leaf will serve as the turkey’s feathers, while the front one will serve as its face!)
2. Cut out a small triangle from the orange construction paper to make the turkey’s beak.
3. Cut out a small triangle from the red tissue paper to make the turkey’s waddle.
4. Glue on the googly eyes, the “beak,” and the “waddle.”
5. Use the leaves’ stems to make the turkey’s legs.

Here’s a picture of what the end product should look like!

Pinecone Hedgehogs

This one is slightly more complicated, but it’s extremely cute. You can use pinecones to make adorable little hedgehogs!

Things you’ll need: pinecone, brown felt, black enamel sticker beads, glue, scissors

1. Take a piece of brown felt and cut out a slightly triangular shape. This will become the hedgehog’s face, so make the corners of this triangle more round than pointed.
2. Stick a black enamel sticker in the center of the felt piece to make the nose. Stick two more to make the eyes.
3. Cut out two smaller pieces of brown felt to make the hedgehog’s ears.
4. Glue the face and the ears onto the pinecone and allow them to dry.

Here’s a picture of what the finished product should look like!

If you will be babysitting these next few weeks, you can keep the kids busy by teaching them how to make these cute little fall-themed crafts. It’ll be fun for them to use their energy to create something so cute.
