10 Strange and Funny Twitter Accounts to Follow

By Uloop Editor on December 12, 2011

People use Twitter for a lot of different things.  Some use it as a promotional tool, some for networking, some for telling their friends what they had for dinner, and some for…well, very strange things.

The good news is, many of the most bizarre accounts are pretty funny to follow.  While I generally only follow serious accounts of real people, I do find some of these Tweeters pretty entertaining at times:

1. @PimpBillClinton

Impersonating the former US President, this account offers all sorts of musings – both funny and wildly inappropriate.  As you can imagine, most center around Bill Clinton’s alleged inpropriety towards his wife, including a recent one:

Trying to talk @ThePresObama into going on Wife Swap because I’m hoping Hillary will go black and never come back.

Like I said, wildly inappropriate, but worth a laugh every now and then.

2. @Chuck_Facts

We all remember the popular “Chuck Norris” jokes started circulating the schoolyard – and the internet – a few years ago.  Well, some people just don’t let a good joke die, including the owner of this account.  His stream is Chucked full of classic sayings like,

What came first, the chicken or the egg? Neither. Chuck Norris came first.

3. @DarthVader

Apparently the Sith Lord, Darth Vader couldn’t stay away from Twitter either.  As his bio proclaims, the Evil Orphan Annie™, tweets about life on the Death Star and offers up butchered quotes from his starring role in the Star Wars movies.  He also does a fair amount of interaction with his fans, although some of his @mentions are a bit threatening,

@davidcaolo @chockenberry Don’t make me destroy you.

If you like Darth’s tweets, you might also want to check out @DeathStarPR.

4. @Y_U_NOOO

This strange account uses the popularized improper grammar from many of our favorite memes to offer not-so-sage pieces of advice and comedy.  He also does not seem to realize that his caps lock is perpetually on.

“FAT PEOPLE, Y U NO LEAVE SKINNY PEOPLE CLOTHES ALONE? WE NO WANT TO SEE ALL THAT!”

5. @BluthQuotes

Fans of the now-defunct cult TV show, Arrested Development, are sure to get a daily dose of laughter here.  @BluthQuotes passes on some of the best quotes from the show’s short life, and sometimes interacts with the real actors and actresses from the show.  Of course, David Cross’ character, Tobias, probably offers up the best fodder for laughter:

Even it means me taking a chubby… I will suck it up. #TobiasTues

On a side note, Netflix announced that they would carry a new season of Arrested Development due to popular demand from the show’s fans! Expect to get even more great Bluth Family quotes from this one.

6. @TheMime

You may not think that a mime would have anything to say…and you’re right.  This account has never tweeted any words, yet it has amassed a following over 22,000 strong.  I’m not sure what that says about the people on Twitter, but @TheMime has a 272 tweet timeline full of this:

7. @FakeAPStylebook

If you ever had to take a writing class in college, you’re probably familiar with the AP Stylebook (or something like it).  This Twitter account would have been your teacher’s worst nightmare, as it will not teach you too much about correct grammar.  It will make you laugh, especially if you’re a bit of a writing nerd like I am.

Make sure all those stupid Internet service names with missing vowels are in your spellcheckr.

8. @NatHistoryWhale

Supposedly managed by “the whale on the ceiling of the Natural History Museum in New York City,” this account will teach you less about history, and more about how much he loves krill:

In other news, I like wind power, but I also love krill. I don’t know what to think about this…[link]

The account is slightly educational though, as the whale likes to raise awareness for environmental issues, especially those that involve whales.

9. @Real_Bin_Laden

I know, we all thought Osama Bin Laden was dead, but according to this Twitter account, his death was a fake! Rather than keep a low profile, Osama has chosen to grace us with his knowledge and offensive wit.  The account went inactive in September 2011, but we all know how good Osama is at hiding.

I get a lot of 72 virgins jokes, but I already sleep with virgins! I’m a famous terrorist! It’s like being the Bieber of the Middle East.

10. @fakeCEOSteve

I shouldn’t really include this one as you can’t follow it any longer, but it was pretty funny when active.  The account used to imitate Apple’s former CEO and founder, Steve Jobs with quips about his attitude and bland clothing taste:

It’s official. The iPad now comes in greater variety than my clothing

Twitter shut the account down for being overly offensive before Steve Jobs died, and it looks like it’s gone forever now.
