Living in Florida, we always have to deal with the bi-polar weather going on. One day it’s a mini hurricane and the next it’s scorching hot without any sun! It gets tiring, but we always have to think about our skin no matter what kind of weather it may be.

It’s summertime, so hitting the beach and pool is a must for that perfect tan. But are you tanning safely? Many forget there are dangers in getting too much vitamin C, for the skin that is. To properly protect your skin, while still being able to get that killer tan is perfectly doable.

  1. Have travel-sized sunscreens to put in your purse, man-bag, fanny pack, whatever. It’s good to always have it. And the travel sized is perfect for those always on-the-go.
  2. Buy a wide-brimmed hat. For days in the sun, this is a fashionable and great way for protecting your face from those UV’s.
  3. No tanning beds allowed. Tanning beds have very dangerous UV rays, to achieve that perfect tan try using a bronzer or spray tan. If tanning beds are your thing, make sure you know the proper regime before and after so your skin can stay healthy.
  4. Use a moisturizer or makeup that has an SPF. That way you don’t have to go out of your routine adding an additional product to your skin.

This tips can be helpful on any given day, even if it’s cloudy. Just because you can’t see the sun, doesn’t mean it’s not there. In fact, sun burns usually occur on cloudy overcast days. Start off going back to school with that awesome tan on that healthy skin of yours. Be nice to your skin, you’ll be glad you did and you’ll thank yourself later.
