Being a college student can be extremely stressful. We have to balance having good grades to maintain a quality GPA, some of us have to work multiple jobs in order to even attend college, and we do all this while trying to maintain having a social life! To me, it’s essential in anyone’s life to have a hobby or place they can go to to unwind, relax, and escape from the responsibilities and sometimes-harsh realities that life can bring.

I recently discovered an app in the iTunes store that has helped me escape when needed, and that app is called Recolor. Recolor is an adult coloring book application that has a slew of different types of images that you can color however your imagination sees fit.

What makes Recolor especially cool to me is that when you color an image, you can then publish it for other colorists on the app to see and they can like and follow your account. You can also upload your own artwork on the app to be published. I am obsessed with anything creative especially when it is dealing with art, so I became instantly hooked on the app within minutes of trying it out.

Recolor is such an awesome app for artists or those who love art like myself, because it allows you to create the most vivid, vibrant, dark, or gloomy pictures that you want to create. I can literally spend hours on the app because I easily get lost in the process of coloring a picture to look how I envision it. I also feel like a mini artist when I publish my colored pictures and people from all over like what I created. In a way, the app is an Instagram for artists.

The downside of Recolor however, is the fact that there are subscription fees. If you want to access all the different color palettes and pictures, you have to subscribe to one of the app’s three subscription plans. You can pay $2.99 weekly, $7.99 monthly, or $39.99 annually to have unlimited access on the app. There’s also an option for a free 7-day trial period for the app’s unlimited access. Though Recolor is great, I personally do not feel there should be subscription plans. A one-time charge for the app would be fine, but on a regular basis, no.

Overall, Recolor is an app that you can thoroughly enjoy even if you choose not to subscribe to any of the app’s plans. Recolor is an amazing space where you can go to let your creativity flow and gain potential inspiration for whatever you need inspiration for. So, download Recolor on your phones and/or tablets, and let your imaginations run wild.
