To many, fall means much more than pumpkin spice everything. Fall fashion is a lifestyle. It’s a seasonal atmosphere that only comes once a year, so here are a few fall fashion tips & trends for 2016 that you can take advantage of it.
For starters, what do you wear?
Wear more beanies! It’s a good way to keep warm and the best way to cover up a bad hair day, regardless of your hair type.
Your boots were made for walking. And that’s just what you should do. Regardless of the color scheme, boots are always a yes in the fall. Fall is just cool enough to where it is acceptable to wear cute boots without having to suffer.
Bring on the leggings! Their warm and are a great way to hide the fact that you haven’t shaved your legs since the end of October.
Well, jeans. People always wear jeans, but fall is an excuse to wear the same jeans for a week straight.
Style up your socks. This goes along with boots, leggings, or jeans – but fall is the time where bro socks trend. Top off your outfit with cute mid-calf socks. It’s an great way to personalize your outfit and keep yourself extra warm.
What are this season’s fall colors?
A few autumn colors that are trending this season include: olive green, burgundy/maroon, mahogany, mustard yellow, and a combination of black or white. The general rule of thumb is that fall colors are summer colors that begin to fade to a more neutral, darker tone. If you’re ever second guessing your outfit, think about whether or not it’s reflecting what you see when you look outside your window and see falling leaves filling the streets.
What about accessories and makeup?
Fall is the time where you can wear makeup without it melting off of your face. Having said that, take advantage of it (that is, if you are inclined to do so). Regardless of what you choose to do, make sure that you moisturize! As it gets colder, the air gets drier and it is important to take care of your skin.
However, it is the perfect time to change up your hair. Out with the highlights, and in with the lowlights! If you are looking for a change, consider a darker hair color (perhaps a darker brown) to fit the “fall aesthetic”.
All in all, when it comes to fall fashion, it is important to consider that all of these tips are just trends. At the end of the day, you choose how you want to dress and regardless of what’s “in” or what’s “out”, it is most important that you feel that you are being yourself.
